Synopsis: The series opens with Oceanic flight 815 crashing violently into the Pacific Ocean just off the coast of a tropical island. Survivors begin arriving on the island, and we are introduced to the major characters: Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Jin, Sun, Shannon, Boone, Sayid, Hurley, Michael, Walt, Charlie, Locke, Rose, and Claire. We also learn how dangerous the island is when a mysterious beast viciously kills the surviving pilot. This episode started the whole story.

Flashback: The flashback this time is the crash itself.

OMG Moment: Whatever killed the pilot is a supernatural force -- the man's body is tossed into the treetops.

Questions and clues: What is the thing that killed the pilot? Who will survive and who will die?
