Synopsis: Sayid finds a cable and follows it into the jungle, where he is caught in a trap set by a woman named Danielle Rousseau. She takes Sayid to her shelter where she ties him up and tells him her story. She was part of a team of scientists whose boat crashed on the island 16 years ago. She lives in constant fear of a group of people she calls the Others, who kidnapped her child Alex, and carry a sickness that infected the other survivors in her party, forcing her to kill them. Sayid manages to escape from Danielle, and she chooses not to kill him when she has the chance. Locke tries to increase the food supply and gets a new hunting buddy, Ethan.

Flashback: Sayid's past is a stark contrast to his current reality on the island. In a flashback, we see Sayid is required to torture and kill his childhood friend, but instead helps her to escape.

OMG Moment: After his escape from Danielle, he hears the voices of the Others whispering in the jungle.

Questions and clues: Are the Others real? Is Danielle crazy or is her story true? If it is true, where is Alex now?
