Synopsis: Locke and Boone continue trying to open the hatch. During their time in the jungle, they come across a crashed plane lying precariously on a cliff. Boone decides to climb inside the plane to investigate. There, he discovers the remains of the plane's passengers, dozens of ceramic Virgin Mary statues, and a working radio. However, before he can use it and while still in the plane, it crashes violently to the ground.

Flashback: Locke suffered the ultimate betrayal when he is conned out of one of his kidneys in an elaborate scheme cooked up by his long-lost father.

OMG Moment:

• Locke returns alone at night to the hatch, pounding on it in lament, when the hatch window suddenly lights up.

Questions and clues:

• Why is it that Boone can send a transmission out using the crashed airplane while the Looking Glass is functioning?

Interesting Concepts:

• The recurring theme of black and white returns in this episode when Sawyer gets a pair of glasses crafted by Sayid. He made them by sticking two pairs of glasses together; one was white, the other was black.
