But we didn't know that they lived on the same island until this episode. When Sawyer was revealed the island they crashed, we though they lived on this second island. This episode clears it up.

Kate's already marked for death, do you want Juliet offed too? Any girl who has sex outside of wedlock on the Island dies within 48 hours. The only reason I can think of that Kate hasn't died is that she was on "Alcatraz".

Off-topic: I'd be happy to see a TV show one day do something completely different- no sex. It's on EVERY SINGLE PRIME-TIME SHOW! Show me a writer who can tell a good story without sex involved and I'll show you a writer I respect.

I enjoyed the commentary by whomever left the Show Synopsis entitled "The Surrealism of Stranger in a Strange Land".
I thought your analysis of the show was great, also a good reason why many other Lost fans were disgruntled by tis episode.
As an artist I enjoy surrealism on another level(and not just "Dali prints hanging in a dorm room"), especially the dream nature that the early surrealists brought into thier artwork.
The metaphores that you mention are great.
I was researching the title on Wikipedia, and the book of Exodus was listed as a link to the title of this episode. Could the massive Exodus of the Others and the Biblical tie to the book of Exodus be related?

AH...I post on LOST General Board as MissingPlane. When I first saw LOST,, first shot first episode.. Jacks opening Eye told me the that LOST is a exploration in the Surreal... I googled Surrealism,, Surrealists, Andre Breton, Rene Magritte,, etc etc etc..and read as much as I find . The TV show LOST,, its format or formula,,, is the Surreal formula. Reject the exterior world around you for TRUTH,,, reject the Interior World ( subconscious, memories) for Truth,, but interface the two realities in analytic fashion and rise above to the Surreal Plane for your Truth...basically enter you imagination free and unfettered and explore the Mystery that is you....Also know,,,that Breton's classic NADJA,, ends with a plane disappearing over Isle de Sable,,,Black Rock.......LOST picks up,, where NADJA ended.
..at times.. with my perspective,,, i feel like a Stranger in a Strange Land here and on the Lost Boards.....
I am not sure why Exodus is offered as a Link...Yes , there are many biblical references made in LOST as well as Buddhist, etc etc....Being marked can be a allude to the parable of Cain and Able. I wonder how many grasp the parable as a view on FREE WILL..Choice..?

Big Cruise Liner

What was up with the big cruise liner in the background when they were loading Ben and the "others" on the little boats to go back to thier main island.

You are correct. That "big cruise liner" is the Other's main island boat,, and what a cool moment seeing their Exodus.

The others don't trust Juliet any more? Why? It looks like she will stay in the island even though Ben promised her a freedom? Jack is moving from cell, now it's the place for Juliet. Is the cell the safest place to keep prisoners? Do the others trust him more than Juliet?

Where are the answers to these questions. Like why didn't Hurley ever remember Libby from the Loony Bin and vice versa? Why didn't Jack ever find out that Ana Lucia was with his dad the whole time she was in Australia? Why doesn't Sawyer tell Jack that he was drinking with his dad? And what about when Charlie saw the baby floating out in the sea and Locke punching him for saving the baby? I know that there are so many more questions, but some of these could have been answered like what happened to "Smokie" since it killed Eko? I just wish they would give me something. I need answers. All I get is confusion. Don't get me wrong I love it, but does anyone have any answers?

Uh, that's kinda the point... if they answered all the questions, the the show would be over. That said, Sawyer did tell Jack that he met his dad in the bar, before he left on the raft. While we're listing questions that we'd like to know the answers to, though, I'd like to know what happened to all the kids from the tail section. Is there going to be a Johnny Swift character who ate them all? (just kidding).
