Episode Number:
Season 3, Episode 19
Production Number: 3.19
Air Date: 5/02/07

Synopsis:

A newly focused Locke breaks away from "The Others" in an attempt to persuade Sawyer to help rid them of a great nemesis that has caused nothing but pain in both of their lives.
Naomi* (The parachutist) and Desmond..
Meanwhile, a new island inhabitant discloses some shocking information about Oceanic Flight 815. As John Locke and company are in the Black Rock; Rosseau appears and takes a crate of Dynamite.

Sawyer (James Ford) and Locke
Desmond and Sayid feel that they cannot trust Jack with the information about the parachutist. It is hard to think badly of Jack after his turn as hero at the beginning, but he is obviously too trusting of Juliette considering her status as a mole. None of us, the viewers, can be sure of her motivation. Can she be trusted, or not? Is she still working for Ben? Or just doing what she has to in order to get off the island?

The satellite radio from Naomi* (the
parachutist) does not seem to be working.

Flashback: Locke (On-Island)

OMG Moments:

John Locke and his father..

Anthony Cooper AKA Sawyer, is finally dead. His killer, as promised, is our very own James "Sawyer" Ford.

New Clues:

The island is not actually on the map. Naomi tells us that the given coordinates were on the middle of the ocean. That goes along with Desmond's escape trial, when he couldn't find out any land outside the island.
But we also know that they aren't dead yet, because it is possible to establish a link with the outside world. Or is it just an illusion?Maybe it is not possible to get away (the submarine may just be there so people believe they can leave), but it is possible to enter, and to enter things. and anyone who enters here is there for a reason. Maybe the particle accelerator is able to modify the flow of destiny itself?

Questions:

  • Was John's dad actually the real Sawyer?
    • Yes. mattGamer 7/9/07
  • What really happened to Flight 815? Why did Naomi say that the plane was found and all the passengers were dead?
    • She could have been lying from what Ben stated. Though Ben has lied several times himself. mattGamer 7/9/07
  • Rosseau was in the Black Rock at the same time as John, Sawyer, and Anthony getting dynamite. Why?
    • Last episode explains it all. Rosseau was getting the dynamite to attack the others. mattGamer 7/9/07
  • What does Juliette mean when she says to Jack, "We should tell her." And why doesn't Jack agree that they should share certain information with Kate? What piece of information are the two of them covering up?
    • The information they are witholding is that Juliet was meant to betray them and allow Ben to take the pregnant women. mattgamer 02/04/08
  • What does Cindy mean when she said to Locke, "We've been waiting for you?" Is Locke supposed to be some sort of savior?
  • Maybe it is not possible to get away (the submarine may just be there so people believe they can leave), but it is possible to enter.
  • Maybe the particle accelerator is able to modify the flow of destiny itself?
  • Is it an illusion to establish a link with the outside world?

Trivia:

Theories:

#1: What happened to Flight 815 could be either real or fake. It might seam that its easy to suppose that the island is somewhere between heaven and earth, so that all people on the island are dead before coming. But, Juliette did not. So, the island is real and people are alive, and what happened to 815 is a fake.
I
  • UPDATE: thinkFlight 815 Katecrash iscould be a pregnant, cover up by Sawyer,Oceanic andAirlines thisbecause isthey know about the informationIsland theyand are withhiding holdingit from Kate.the world.

#2: The Surreal of " The Brig" : An episode that has Ben saying, " Its a Metaphor" to the " Magic Box" he introduced in a earlier episode, can't be anymore plain in stating the Surreal quality of this show..Yes, its all metaphor. Accepting Illusion as Reality brings us to each of own personal Hell....a hell that becomes our own cross to be bear.

Fascinating it is, in reading all the above. What is fake and what is real is on most contributor's minds. The only thing that is real,,is what and where the viewer is brought to by end of episode. How one " feels" about what these one dimensional yet exaggerated characters do or not and what one finds in their imagination ,,terra metaphor,, in attempting to answer questions surfaced in the episode,,is the only " Real" of LOST. The viewers personal feelings and discoveries in the imagination are the Viewers answers to the Big Question of LOST: Who Am I?. LOST is the Ultimate Reality Show.

The Genius of all this,,is.. its all done by presenting Illusion as reality. Therefore, the only place one can make sense of all the Incongruent,,all the things exaggerated beyond the point of " reality"..is in the Land of the Metaphor, The Surreal....So, The Brig is our own personal hell and of course The Great Easter Egg; Only Fools are enslaved by time and space..is the hint at escape. So,,who is still looking for Hard answers,,still in The Brig , the personal hell, of looking to everybody else for the answers, and who has escaped The Brig, by realizing The Answers await for them in the open ended,,no boundary , land of the Imagination?
