That cleared up picture does look like Pickett, but he's dead. I think Jacob is Locke's brother because in The Brig, Locke's dad implied that he has 2 (or maybe more) smart children.

The Island Is Waiting. Widmore, the other (confirmed) half of the puzzle, confirmed by the producers, to clarify, is a huge piece of this. Even more specifically, it's Penny's role in this. She's linked-in with several of our characters, most likely. I have gone back & rewatched a lot of the episodes. Not even really looking for anything, just watching for the enjoyment of it, I picked-up on some cool things. Season 2, episodes 1-3... notice Desmond's first appearance. There's the famous Des & Pen picture in the hatch. After Kate gets (almost unnaturally) yanked down into the hatch by that rope... Jack follows her down there, and stops, pauses for a full 5 seconds, and stares at the picture. He makes this "Wow, I swear I know you..." face. It's established, at this point, he & Desmond have met at a stadium when jogging on stairs & the "You have to lift her up." conversation has taken place... but who IS Penny? "She is a key to unlocking the underlying mythology of the island." per Cuse & Lindelof. Wanna know how she popped right up on the video display? She had asked how Charlie got her "FREQUENCY" because he called her! When dialing that specific sequence, the Beach Boys' song Good Vibrations, it was like basically calling her cell phone or, moreover, her video phone in her office. Apparently, VIP's like Widmores or Paik's get 20+ digit telephone numbers. It's a premium/satellite terminating number, looping through satellite technology. (I work for the telephone company). So, logically, we know she's lying somehow, or we know that Desmond's trip around the world "for love" to prove something to Mr. Widmore, somehow inadvertently landed him there out of destiny. Mr. Widmore is a huge orchestrator of the island, though.

"Why doesn't Richard age...and yes that was him in the jungle when Ben was still a boy. It doesn't make sense. Would Ben seeing his mother and seeing "Richard" be proof of clones? (There are no clones, and Richard's age might be nothing more than bad makeup by the LOST crew) (Re: bad makeup; Hippie Richard is obviously intended to look like a young man in his circa-1968 scene with young Ben, maybe early twenties, but current Richard does not look even as old as current Ben, who looks to be around 50. This would have to be some seriously bad makeup by the crew. Either Hippie Richard was not current Richard or the island has some anti-aging property for some people, like Richard, but not for others, like Ben.)(That scene couldn't be set in 1968 as the Dharma Initiative wasn't created until 1975. Add to that the time it would take for them to actually build all the various underground installations and the barracks and we're looking at somewhere closer to 1980, possibly 1985)."
The Orientation video for Station 3, The Swan, was dated 1980 The Hanso Foundation. That would supplement your theory. However, with assistance from someone like Paik, interlocking bunkers would be a cinch. Take a decagonal geometrical structure like that on oceanic815.com for example! Play the video segments that interlock the clips & they'll form a spinning video sequence with a glowing center, symbolizing the magnetic core of the island. I believe Paik assisted , with this steel magnate/financial resources, in the construction of the island. Or, riddle me this, if Magnus = Alvar. That's a good anti-aging / fountain-of-youth theory-supporting backup! He'd lie and/or pose as a completely new person because he has appearances to maintain! He's a public figure, Hanso, that is... It's starting to add up. They're building that runway because their charter company, Oceanic, will make this accessible one day. |

Had an idea on how two or three pieces of the Lost jigsaw fit together: the 'natives', one of whom grooms Ben to betray the Dharma scientists, are the survivors of the 'Black Rock' (recognised as a slave ship so presumably antiquated). The two bodies found in the caves could also now be explained as 'natives'. Any thoughts?

the girl who gives the dolls to young Ben is called Annie. When the Dharma scientists have been killed there is no sign of her. I think she had got off the island before that. Can anyone recall another flaskback character called Annie?

Jacob is Alvar Hanso, he has the same look in the split second plus no one has seen him in years. Plus they believe he is the smartest man out of everybody, and Mikhail, although never seen him, said he was the far greatest man in the world.

Ethan and others recruited Juliet to the island. How do you know Ethan had never been on the island before he brought Juliet there. I'm confused as to why everyone is sure that it is impossible to leave the island. Please help me understand.

Why doesn't Ben hear what Jacob says to Locke? And why doesn't Locke hear or see Jacob when Ben is talking to Jacob? We all know by now that he is real, and we saw him for a second in the episode.
Also regarding the arrival of the Dharma Initiative, is it possible to fit that many people in the submarine? Finally, how did Ben become the leader of the Others when he wasn't originally part of them? Why isn't the leader Richard? |

1. Richard apparently does not age or ages much slower than a normal human. He was obviously in his late 20s to early 40s in his meeting with young Ben....and looked identical from "The Purge" to present day (2004). Do all the "hostiles/natives" have that gift? And how many, besides Richard, are part of "the Others"? (Ben said he recruited "most" of them from outside).
2. Richard told Locke that Ben was "wasting his time" on trying to have women survive pregnancy on the Island ("One of Us"). Yet HE recruited Juliet, to do just that. Why is he aiding Ben's "quest", yet dissing it to Locke? Is Ben's "relationship" with Jacob part of the answer? 3. As many know, "Richard Alpert" is the birth name of spiritual teacher Ram Dass....significance to the character's name? |

That atleast part of "the Answer" is supernatural and not scientificly based.
Locke and Ben's experience in "Jacob's Cabin" with "Jacob" (an invisible entity, glimpsed only briefly) must indicate that supernatural, rather than some scientific explanation must be involved. Along with other visions (Jack's visions of his dead father, Ben's of his dead mother, Eko of his dead brother), theories bounced around that it was the "Smoke Monster" and that it could still be "a cloud of nano-bots" or something. The "Amityville Horror" antics of "Jacob" (with no "Smokie" in sight) would seem pretty strong evidence that "the Answer" is going to be something metaphysical, mystical, and spiritual...rather than based on physics or materialism. |

So Locke is laying in the pit, shot and bleeding. I highly doubt that he is going to die, there are too many loose ends with him, and he seems to be too important to the Others for him to make such an early exit. My guess is that they see Locke as a "reincarnation" of "Jacob".. Compare the picture of Jacob and Locke; Jacob almost looks like Locke with hair...
