Synopsis: "The face-off between the survivors and the freighter people continues, and the Oceanic Six find themselves closer to rescue.

Detailed Summary:

Jack is going through the jungle with Sawyer. And they approach the Orchid, they meet up with Hurley, Ben and Locke. Jack Calls out for Locke. Back to the Kahana, Desmond, Jin and Michael (Kevin Johnson) are still trying to figure out how to defuse the C4. They discover it’s going to be very difficult.

Jack and Locke start talking about why he is there and what he’s planning to do. Jack does not believe that Locke is about to commit a miracle.

We see Keamy and his crew walking through the jungle with Ben as a hostage. They see Frank with the tool box trying to get the handcuffs off because he is handcuffed to the helicopter seat. All of a sudden Kate comes out of the jungle, she claims she’s being chased by Ben’s people. Keamy and his men start a heated gun fight with Richard and the others. After a few men drop Kate tells Ben to stay close as they run away from the helicopter. Keamy begins to chase them down. As they are running Ben falls and Keamy gets closer. Sayid pops out of the bushes and tackles him, and they continue fighting until Richard puts three shots into Keamy’s back. Kate and Ben come back to see what has happened. Richard explains to Ben that the deal was if Sayid and Kate helped free Ben they could walk off the island. Ben agrees they can leave.

Locke and Jack are talking about Jack reconsider leaving the island. Locke wants him to stay. Jack tells Locke to stay and the rest of the survivors will leave. Locke tells Jack he knows he’s there for a reason, and that if he leaves the knowledge of the island will eat him inside out, until he comes back. Jack says goodbye, and Locke says he needs to lie to protect the island. Ben approaches, and then shows Locke the elevator to The Orchid. They go down into The Orchid. Jack leaves to go back to the helicopter.

Back on the Kahana Michael, Jin, and Desmond are fighting to prevent the C4 from detonation. Michael has an idea to freeze the battery with liquid nitrogen. The catch is there is only one canister left of liquid nitrogen. So they all agree to freeze the battery until they figure out a game plan.

Daniel Faraday reaches the beach. He tells Juliet to start loading as he goes and gets some water. Daniel approaches Miles and Charlotte. He tells them he wants them on the raft. Miles says he’s staying, and Charlotte agrees to go. Mile says “I’m surprised you want to leave, it’s just weird after all that time you spent trying to get back here” to Charlotte. She replies “What do you mean, Get back here?” Miles replies “What do I mean?” in a sarcastic tone.

Ben and Locke are down into The Orchid. Locke is questioning the station, so Ben gives him the orchid orientation film. The video starts rewinding after Locke noticed it says “Do not put metallic object in the vault” as Ben is loading it with metal chairs garbage cans etc. Locke questions Ben about it. And Ben nods his head. The elevator starts moving, and Locke says “are you expecting someone”.

Kate is trying helping Frank get the handcuffs off as Hurley, Sawyer and Jack return from the Orchid. Sawyer helps Frank get the handcuffs off with a Hack Saw. Sayid explains how he got back to the island to Jack. They all get onto the chopper to go back to the Kahana.

Back at the Orchid, the elevator is finally at the bottom and then Keamy walks in. Keamy attempts to provoke Ben. He says “this armor has been known to take a bullet or two”. He explains what the device on his arm is. He says that it’s a Heart rate monitor and if his heart stops the 500 pounds of C4 on the Kahana. Locke walks out and tries to calm him down. During their conversation, Ben jumps out from hiding and kills Keamy by stabbing him multiple times. Lock says “you just killed everyone on that boat”. Ben replies “so?”

Back on the beach, Daniel is looking for Charlotte. She tells him she wants to stay on the island, for now anyways. Daniel tries to convince her to come, but she refuses. Charlotte says “Would it make any sense if I was still looking for where I was born? Bye Daniel.” Daniel and everyone leave the Island heading to the Kahana.
Desmond is still trying to defuse the C4. He is frustrated and questioning Michael about freezing the battery. Michael says there is a quarter tank of liquid nitrogen left.
Frank is flying the helicopter and notices the fuel is going down fast. Sayid looks outside and says there’s a leak. So everyone start throwing everything out of the helicopter to try and lose some weight. Jack persists not to go back to the Island because there’s no fuel there, and the helicopter is useless there. Sawyer then whispers into Kate’s ear and kisses her passionately, and then Sawyer jumps out of the helicopter and starts swimming to shore.

Back on the helicopter everyone is panicking trying to find the Kahana as they continue to lose fuel fast. Frank states they only have 5 minutes of fuel left. Jack says they will go back for Sawyer to Kate. Hurley then spots the Kahana.

Back in The Orchid, Locke is trying to save Keamy as he is bleeding to death. He says to Ben “Widmore will find you” as he dies. On the Kahana the light turns red to send the signal to blow up the C4. Michael says there’s on five minutes left tin the tank. Desmond rushes to the deck to get things ready. He tries to warn Frank not to land the helicopter. Screaming there’s a bomb. Frank is fixing the holes as they fill the helicopter with fuel. Sun tries to run and get Jin from downstairs. Kate stops her and says she will go. Michael tells Jin to leave saying he is a father and to get to his wife. Jin is running for the deck. Frank, Desmond, Sun, Kate, Jack, Hurley, Sayid, and Aaron are taking off in the helicopter as Jin runs to the deck. Sun screams they have to go back and get him. Frank is saying they cannot, they don’t have time. Michael runs out of liquid nitrogen downstairs and starts hearing things. All of a sudden Christian Shephard appears saying “You can go now Michael”, Michael replies “who are you?” And BOOM, the Kahana blew up from the C4 detonation. On the helicopter Sun screams and saying they have to go back from Jin. Jack says “He’s gone”. Jack then tells Frank to fly them back to the Island.

Back in orchid Locke is asking Ben why he killed Keamy when he knew it would blow the boat up. Ben turns on “The Vault” and a huge electrical explosion happens.
Juliet is sitting on the beach when Sawyer returns from his jump out of the helicopter. She is drinking rum while looking at the blown up Kahana in the ocean. Sawyer asks if that’s our boat.

Ben puts a coat on. Locke asks where his is. Ben replies by saying “You don’t get one, because you’re not coming with me”. Locke replies “Yes I am going with you”. Ben replies “No you’re not”. Locke replies “Jacob told me what I had to do, you don’t get to …..”, as Ben interrupts by saying “He may have told you what to do, but he didn’t tell you how to do it, because he wants me to suffer the consequences”. Locke replies by saying “What consequences?” Ben replies “whoever moves the island can never come back. So I’d like you to get on the elevator and go back up. My people with be waiting two miles east of the orchid.” Locke replies “For me?” Ben replies “Ready, willing and able. To share what they know. And they will follow your every word. Goodbye John. Sorry I made your life so miserable”. Locke replies “What do I tell them to do?” Ben Replies “you’ll find your way John, you always do”. John meets up with Richard and the Others at their camp. Richard says “Hello John, Welcome Home”. Ben empty’s the metal from “The Vault”, and then goes through a hole the explosion caused in the back of the vault. The tunnel leads to a ladder going down about 15 feet. About halfway down is a sheet of ice. Ben stomps his foot through it. At the bottom he enters a room with a lamp in the middle and a wheel in the wall. He lights the lamp and walk over to the wheel and says “I hope your happy now Jacob”. He then tries to turn the wheel, but he can’t. He picks up a crow bar off the ground and starts breaking away the ice. After he did that, he then started to turn the wheel. And as he was turning it that strange sound went through the sky. As the helicopter flying back Desmond says “Now what is that”. Ben continues to turn the wheels and a light/ fire starts coming out of the wall. And then the whole sky lights up. The island disappears, seeming to sink to the bottom of the ocean. Everyone on the helicopter starts panicking asking “where is the island”. They run out of fuel and are falling into the ocean. Everyone puts on a life vest, and on the way down Sayid inflates the life raft and throws it out of the door. Everyone makes it up to the water. Frank and Jack find Desmond face down in the water. They pull him into the raft and Jack gives him CPR and he spits out water and takes a breath.

Back in the life raft everyone is alright awaiting a rescue. Hurley and Jack have a debate on what happened to the Island. Frank all of a sudden see’s a boat in the distance. Everyone starts screaming “Hey, Over Here”. The boat comes towards them. Jack then says “We have to lie, about everything, every moment since we crashed on the Island”. Kate says “Jack we can’t, we can’t pull it off”. Jack Says let me do the talking. The boat approaches the life raft, one of the crew members is yelling “Ms. Widmore”. She then comes to the edge saying throw them a rope. Desmond see’s her and says “Penny? PENNY, PENNY.” He pulls himself onto the boat, and then kisses penny. She then asks if he’s okay. Desmond asks “How did you find me?” Penny replies “Your phone call .. I have a tracking station”. Desmond then says “I love you Penny, and I’ll never leave you again”. They start kissing again. Kate, Jack, Sayid, Frank, Hurley, Sun, and Aaron all come onto the deck. Desmond introduces Penny to them all. Jack then says “We need to talk”. He arranged for penny to drop off the Oceanic 6 near a small island. The “Oceanic 6” all say goodbye to Penny, Desmond and Frank. They make their way paddling to the Island of Sumba they got dropped off near. The local residents on the Island run over to them as they approach the shore, and help them get out of the water.



Flashforward:

Jack-

At the beginning of the episode where it is giving the details leading up to what is going to happen we see Kate and Jack from the final scene In “Through The Looking Glass”. Well what we didn’t see there is when Jack finishes yelling “we have to go back”. Kate reverses, and gets out of the car, she says “We have to go back? We have to go back? Who do you think you are? You called me for two days over and over stoned on your pills. And then you show up here with an obituary for Jeremy Bentham. When he came to me and I heard what he had to say, I knew he was crazy. But you, you believe him. You of all people. Jack replies “I did because he said that was the only way I could keep you safe, you and Aaron. Kate replies “Don’t say his name. I still have to explain to him why you’re not there. So don’t say his name. I’ve spent the last 3 years forgetting all the horrible things that were done. How dare you ask me to go back.

Hurley-


Hurley is questioned form a visitor. Later we find out he is Walt’s grandmother. Walt sits down. Walt later says “you know when you came back, I was waiting for you to come see me. But no one did. You know who did come see me? Jeremy Bentham! I don't understand why you’re all lying”. Hurley replies “We are lying because it’s the only way to protect everyone who didn’t come back”. Walt’s replies “Like my dad?” Hurley replies “Like your dad, yeah”.




Sayid-

Sayid shoots and kills a man who was stationed outside of Santa Rosa Hospital. He then goes and breaks in, and goes to see Hurley. He finds Hurley and Sayid wants him to leave to “Somewhere safe”. Sayid tells Hurley that Bentham is dead and that there being watched. Hurley asks if they’re going back. Sayid replies no. As there leaving the hospital room Hurley makes one last move in the chess game and says “Checkmate Mr. Eko”.







Sun-

Sun receives a phone call from her baby sitter. Saying Ji Yeon wants to talk to her. She ends the conversation quickly as she see’s Charles Widmore walk out of a store. She introduces herself to him. She then says “are you really going to pretend you really don’t know who I am” Charles replies “I’m afraid I don’t know what you’re talking about Mrs. Kwon. She then replies “Yes you do know, just like you know we have been lying all this time about where we were, and what happened to us there. You and I have common interests. When you’re ready to discuss them…. Call me. We are not the only ones who left the island”. Charles then replies “Why would you want to help me” as she walks away.


Kate-

Kate wakes up to the phone ringing a voice then says something. Kate then hears a door open, she jumps out of bed, and grabs a gun in her closet. She runs over to Aaron room, when she enters the room she see’s someone over Aaron. She says “Don’t move, don’t you touch my son”. The person stands up and turns to Kate, and its Claire. Kate then says “Claire?” as she is shaking her head. Claire says “Don’t bring him back Kate…. Don’t you dare bring him back”. Kate then wakes up realizing it was only a dream. She goes down the hall and checks on Aaron. And he is sound asleep in bed. Kate grabs his hand as she starts crying saying “I’m sorry…. I’m sorry”




Jack-
Jack is driving down the road with the music blaring. He stops in front of the funeral home and exits his truck. He then walks over to the door of the funeral home and breaks in. Inside he walks over to the casket, He picks up the documents off the casket and throws them onto a steel tray. He opens the casket up and looks down at the body. Just then Ben approaches saying “Hello Jack, sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you, did he tell you I was off the island”. Jack replies “Yes he did”. Ben then says “when did you speak with him”. Jack replies “about a month ago”. Ben then says “and Kate?” Jack replies “Yeah, He came to see her too”. Ben says “And what did he say to you?” Jack replies “He told me that, after I left the island some very bad things happened, and he told me that it was my fault for leaving, and he said that I had to come back”. Ben replies “Yes I’ve heard that you’ve been flying on passenger planes. Hoping you’d crash. It’s dark Jack, very dark”. Jack then says “Why are you here?” Ben says “I’m here to tell you that the Island won’t let you come alone. All of you have to come back”. Jack Says “Sayid? I don’t even know where Sayid is. Hurley is insane. Sun blames me for ….. And then Kate, she won’t even talk to me anymore”. Ben replies “Perhaps I can help you with that. This is the way it has to be Jack, it’s the only way. You have to do it together. All of you”. Jack then asks Ben “How?” Ben replies saying “I have some ideas”. Jack takes a big sigh and starts to walk past Ben. Ben then says “Jack I said all of you, were going to have to bring him too” as they look down at the casket with Locke lying in it.

  • They go back to the island.
• What bad things happen to the people on the island that Jeremy (John) said?
  • Flaming arrow attacks and violent time flashes.
• Why was Locke going by the name of Jeremy Bentham?
• Has the island been moved before? Is this the reason for the Black Rock being located so for inland?
• It is still unknown if it's been moved before, but it is not how the Black Rock got so far inland. A severe storm washed the Black Rock that far into the jungle.

• Jin May Still Be Alive.
• Correct, he dove off just in time.
