On Island Events: The Season 5 finale begins with Jacob working with some thread. Then, he goes outside, sits on the beach, and watches a ship (most likely the Black Rock) sail towards the island. Another man joins him and says that Jacob brought the
Statue
people on the ship to prove him wrong. Then, the man says that he wants to kill Jacob and that one day he will find a "loophole." The man walks away, and the camera zooms out, revealing that they were sitting next to the four-toed statue.

In the submarine in 1977, Kate tells Sawyer and Juliet what Jack's about to do. Juliet, Sawyer, and Kate find the captain and force him to take the submarine up to the surface. When they get to the beach, Vincent runs out of the jungle, followed by Rose and Bernard. Rose and Bernard show them their hut, and then they tell them which direction the Barracks are.

Meanwhile, Sayid removes the explosive part of the hydrogen bomb so they can move it across the island faster. Then, Richard breaks down a wall. Behind it is a Dharma basement. Richard knocks out Eloise and takes her back to the Others, and Jack and Sayid go upstairs. Sayid puts on a Dharma uniform to "hide in plain sight," and they go outside. As the walk through the
The Hydrogen Bomb
town, Roger notices Sayid and shoots him. Jack shoots at Roger, and some Dharma members start shooting at Jack. Then, Jin, Hurley, and Miles come in a Dharma van and rescue Jack and Sayid.

While driving to the Swan construction site, Hurley stops the Dharma van because Sawyer, Juliet, and Kate are blocking the road. Sawyer asks to talk to Jack for five minutes, so they go into the jungle. After a brief discussion, the begin fighting each other. Juliet stops the fight and takes Jack's side. Jack goes back to get the bomb from Sayid and takes it to the Swan site.

The Incident
Jack enters the Swan site but gets noticed, and the Dharma people start shooting at him. Then, Sawyer, Juliet, Kate, and Miles come to help him. Jack drops the bomb into the drilling hole, but nothing happens. Then, the drill hits the energy pocket. All the metal objects start getting sucked into the hole. Juliet gets caught on a chain, and it pulls her into the hole. She lands at the bottom, next to the bomb, and she starts hitting it with a rock. There's a bright flash and the scene ends.

In 2007, Ilana and her people arrive at the main island. They go to Jacob's cabin and discover that he hasn't been their for a long time, but someone else has been using it. They burn the cabin and begin walking to the four-toed statue.

Meanwhile, during their journey to see Jacob, Locke tells Ben to kill Jacob for him. Because smoke-monster-Alex told Ben to do whatever Locke said, Ben agrees. They arrive at the four-toed foot, and Richard tells them that's where Jacob lives. Locke and Ben go in the foot and meet Jacob. When Jacob sees Locke, he says "You found your loophole." Then, Ben stabs Jacob and "Locke" kicks him into the fire.

Outside the statue, Ilana and her people arrive. She asks Richard that famous question- "What lies in the shadow of the statue?" Richard replies with "Ile qui nos omnes servabit" which is latin for "He who will save us all"They open the silver box, tip it over, and Locke's body from the coffin falls out.

Off Island Events: In the first flashback, young Kate is trying to steal a lunchbox. The store owner catches her and is about to call Kate's mother and the police, but Jacob comes and offers to pay for it. In the second flashback, young Sawyer is at his parents' funeral. Once the mourners are gone, he begins writing his letter to the real Sawyer. Jacob walks up to him and gives him a pen. In the third flashback, Sayid and Nadia begin to cross a street, but Jacob comes and asks Sayid a question. Sayid leaves Nadia in the street, and she gets hit by a car. Other flashbacks show Jacob meeting Ilana, Jack, Hurley, Sun, and Jin.

OMG Moments:
  • We see Jacob for the first time.
  • The four-toed statue was shown from yet another angle.
  • Locke's body was in Ilana's silver box.
  • Ben killed Jacob.

New Clues:

Questions:
  • What happened after the hydrogen bomb exploded?
  • Jacob said "They're coming!" Who's coming?
  • Did the hydrogen bomb actually explode?
  • Is the man in the black shirt who wanted to kill Jacob - and who took the form of Locke - the Smoke Monster?
  • A- Maybe, I think he may have been punished in a past life and became the smoke monster. he then took the form of Alex to tell Ben to listen to John, and then took form of John to tell Ben to kill Jacob

Trivia:

Theories:

I think that the guy in the beginning of the episode ( that they didn't say the name of) that wanted to kill Jacob but couldn't found his loop hole. He posed as Locke and told Ben to kill Jacob since he wasn't allowed to for some reason. Because it was someone else, Jacob died. And that might prove that Jacob was sort of an angel that got everyone to go to the island and the other guy was a devil that wanted death. After Jacob was killed anything could happen even if it wasn't "meant to be".

Believe it or not, the season finale is already here. If you have any theories on what will happen on the finale, add them here. Will the survivors in 1977 be reunited with those in 2007? What will happen with Locke, the Others, and Jacob? Will the Incident be stopped? Will Vincent save everyone? All these and much more are ideas on what you can discuss about.

I don't know if this was touched on yet, but does anyone have a theory about this book Jacob is shown reading?

I looked it up on line and found an explaination of the story and this:

The story’s title refers to an underlying religious message that is central to her [the author's] work: she aims to expose the sinful nature of humanity that often goes unrecognized in the modern, secular world.

It doesn't really mean that much to me, but reading it over just now made me think of Rose and Bernard and what they said about traveling back 30 years in time and how they (Jack, Sawyer, Kate, etc.) are still trying to find ways to shoot eachother.

BTW, are Rose and Bernard living in Jacob's hut?

I am not sure about the exact location of the statue nor the hatch... but maybe the bomb created some sort of soil movement (earthquake or something) that made the fout-toed statue to be ruined
