In just two new episodes, producers of
LOST have certainly delivered on their promise to start answering questions. Here, we reveal the top
8 questions answered or secrets uncovered during "
The Beginning of the End" and "
Confirmed Dead." In true
LOST fashion, though... every answer leads to another question. Or four.
1. Hurley gets off the island, making three known members of the Oceanic Six.
In the season opening flash-forward, after a hallucination-inspired high speed chase, Hurley yells "I'm one of the Oceanic Six!" Conversations with Jack imply that Jack (and thereby Kate) are with him in that. Questions: "Oceanic Six" is a nebulous term. If Desmond, for example, is rescued... is he one of the "Oceanic Six" even though he wasn't on the plane?
2. Jack doesn't immediately regret getting off the island.
In the mind blowing season three finale flash-forward, we discovered that Jack is desperate to get back to the island. His interactions with Hurley, presumably on the time-line before the other flash-forward, suggest that he is completely happy settled back into his normal life. Questions: How does Jack get from "The Beginning of the End" (toeing the Oceanic company line) to "Through the Looking Glass" (despondant and ready to go back)?
3. There is someone or something on the island that looks like Christian Shepherd.
It was a blink and you miss it moment, but as
Hurley stumbled upon
Jacob's cabin, who was sat in there but the elder Dr. Shepherd. The
Missing Pieces revealed that a figure looking like Christian Shepherd has been on
the island at least since the crash.
Questions: Does this mean that Christian Shepherd is alive? Or is this another illusion of the Black Smoke Monster? When Jack saw his dad in "White Rabbit," was that really Christian or was Jack truly hallucinating? | | | | | The shot of "Jacob" is blurry in The Beginning of the End. | But when sharpened, it looks like Christian. | Jacob is wearing a suit that looks similar to his father's suit in White Rabbit. | And remember when Jack opened his father's casket, and Christian was missing? |

4. At least one member of Locke's group makes it back to be rescued.
At the climactic moment of "The Beginning of the End," the island folks split into two: those who wished to be rescued and those who didn't. Hurley went with Locke's group who wished to stay on the island, however, he somehow makes it off to become one of the Oceanic Six. Questions: Why does Hurley regret going with Locke? What happened to either cause Hurley to leave or the groups to meet up again? Did anyone else from Locke's group make it off?
5. The general public believes that Oceanic 815 crashed at sea with no survivors.
The Christiane I discovers the complete wreckage of Oceanic 815 in the Sunda Trench while looking for the wreckage of The Black Rock. The entire plane is present, broken into three connected pieces. There are bodies on board, including one which is identified as the pilot, Seth Norris. All passengers are "Confirmed Dead." Questions: Is the the real wreckage of 815? If it is a fake, who staged it, how, and why?
6. Ben has been off the island since arriving on it.
7. The freighter people weren't coming to rescue the 815 survivors; they were coming for Ben.
As the people in
the helicopter are found, it gradually becomes revealed that their motives were not to rescue the Oceanic survivors, but to find Benjamin Linus.
Questions: Who is looking for Ben? Why?
8. DHARMA Initiative evidence has been found in Tunisia. And they really have a thing for polar bears.
As Charlotte find an excavation in Tunisia, she finds the bones of a polar bear and the remanants of a collar with DHARMA's Hydra Station logo on it. She seems to recognise this and smiles. Questions: How does Charlotte know about DHARMA? Who else knows? How did a polar get to Tunisia?
