Occupation: Former member of
the Others.
Hails From: The Island.
Who She is: Alex Rousseau is thought to be the daughter of
Ben, and stays with
the Others even though she doesn't approve of what they do. Alex is
Danielle Rousseau's 16-year-old daughter. She was kidnapped by
the others as an infant. She helped
Claire escape from the medical hatch (called
The Staff) where she was kept by
Ethan and the Others. When the Others met up with the search party
Jack has assembled to find
Michael,
Tom tells Alex to bring out
Kate. She questioned Michael about Claire and her
baby. She also was with the Others when they kidnapped Jack,
Kate, and
Sawyer.

In
"The Glass Ballerina", she asked
Kate about
Karl, who she was obviously worried about. Karl was taken out of the cage next to
Sawyer in
"A Tale of Two Cities". Alex also mentions to Kate that the dress
Ben put on Kate is hers.
Throughout the episodes we've seen her in, she seems to do as
the Others say, but it is clear that she is sympathetic towards the survivors, and is willing to help them when they need it, probably partially due to the way she sees them treat
Karl and the survivors in general.
The others refer to
Ben as her father, but Alex herself has called him both "dad" and Ben. According to Rousseau, her husband's name was Robert and she was pregnant when they wrecked on
the island. Since Ben informs
Jack that he's been on the island his whole life, Ben as Alex's biological father would be impossible. However, Ben isn't the most trustworthy person, nor is
Rousseau the sanest. Either could be lying.
In
"Greatest Hits" when
Karl says, "Won't that make your dad mad?" Alex asks, "Is he my Dad?" Karl looks surprised, and doesn't answer.

While
Kate and
Sawyer were held prisoner at
the Hydra, Alex attacked
the Others working at the quarry. She wanted to know where
Karl was at, and wanted to talk to
Ben. Alex was taken away, but warned Kate that they would kill Sawyer, just liked they killed her boyfriend.
In
"The Man from Tallahassee" John breaks into
Ben and Alex's house. When Alex comes to check on her 'father'
Locke grabs her, and then hides with her in the closet when another Other comes to tell Ben that they have captured
Kate and
Sayid. Ben tells the man to "bring me the man from Tallahassee." When John asks if that is code for something, Ben says "No, we don't have a code for 'there's a man in the closet with a gun to my daughter's head'... although we obviously should."
Later, when
Kate and
Sawyer escaped, Alex offered to help them get off
the Hydra Island, as long as they save
Karl. They went to
Room 23, which was guarded by
Aldo. They tricked him, and went inside. Karl was being brainswashed, but they managed to free him. He needed to be carried away. Alex gave them a raft, which Kate, Sawyer, and Karl used to get back to the main Island.
John has Alex go retrieve
Sayid's bag, supposedly under
her father's orders. When she goes to walk away, Sayid says, "You look just like your mother." Alex is puzzled and tells Sayid that her mother is dead. He says, "Yes, I am sure that is what they told you." So the question now is, will Alex want Sayid to explain more to her about her mother? Will she ask him questions the next time she runs into him?

After telling
Karl to warn the survivors about
the Others' ambush, Alex goes with
Ben to
the Radio Tower to intercept the survivors. Ben and
Jack meet, and Ben is beaten by Jack, thinking
Sayid,
Jin, and
Bernard are dead. The crippled Ben lays there, and introduces Alex to her mother,
Rousseau, for the first time.
During the split of the survivors, Alex joins
Locke's group, along with
Ben,
Karl, and
Rousseau.
While on the way to
the Barracks,
Ben, who is tied up, prisoner, attempts to talk to Alex, but she ignores him. After Ben shot
Charlotte,
Locke held him at gunpoint, but Alex protested against this. Locke told
Rousseau to take Alex away, but Ben's life is spared after he reveals information about Charlotte.
Ben, worried about the coming of the freighter people, told Alex, along with
Karl and
Rousseau to head to
the Temple for safety. He said it is the only safe place left on
the Island. However, they never reached their destination, because mercenaries from
the Kahana ambushed them, killing Karl and Rousseau. Alex surrendered, shouting not to shot because she is Ben's daughter.

Alex was captured, and held prisoner. Keamy gave
Miles a walkie-talkie so he can give it to
Ben to communicate. After Ben discovered Alex was being held hostage, he agreed to talk with Keamy. After a standoff, Ben announced that Alex meant nothing to him, but then Keamy killed Alex, execution style, and walked away. Ben, out of shock and grief, "summoned"
the Monster to attack the mercenaries. Before leaving, he went to Alex for the final moments with her.
Some time in the future,
Ben travels to
Charles Widmore's house, and accused him of killing Alex. Widmore, however, blames Ben for her death. Ben said that Widmore "changed the rules", and that he will find and kill his daughter,
Penelope Widmore.
