The Coast Guard Plane is a Lockheed HC-130 #1717 that the United States Coast Guard used to transport the Oceanic 6 from Sumba to Kalaeloa Airport in Honolulu. The plane was piloted by two people, the co-pilot being a highly superstitious person. He carried a lucky charm, and claimed that the cargo was "bad mojo". Karen Decker, an Oceanic Airlines representative was also on board the plane.

Before landing, Karen Decker told the Oceanic 6 that there would be a press meeting, but they did not have to answer questions. Jack insisted that they talk. After the plane landed, the cargo door opened, revealing the families of the Oceanic 6, overjoyed to finally being united for the first time. The press conference took place at an hangar in the airport.
