Season 4 Promo
Picking up where season three left off, rescue is on the way for our Lostaways, but who are these rescuers and why have they come now, 100 days in? We know six people get off... who, how, and why are the main questions for this season.

Lost Season 4 Facts:

  • The producers originally planned to have 16 episodes in Season 4, but due to the Writers Strike, it has been cut down to 13. The 3 other episodes will be split between Seasons 5 and 6. The season finale will air on May 29, 2008 and will be two hours of action (making 14 hours of episodes for Season Four). LOST will not air on May 22, 2008. Link.
  • More flash forwards? "Yes," says Carlton Cuse. But what about the mind blowing season three flash forward? "What you saw with Kate and Jack was not the end of the show," Carlton continues. "There's this whole chapter that happens after the island," adds Damon Lindelof. In fact, out of this season ending block of five episodes, there will only be one flashback. Lindelof teases about future seasons: "There could easily be a time when the word flash becomes irrelevant." (Entertainment Weekly, "Paradise Lost," April 18, 2008.)
  • More news from "Paradise Lost:" We will see a new dimension to the Smoke Monster in "The Shape of Things to Come," along with a Ben flash-forward, more on Nadia, and the start of a big storyline for Claire. The following episode will be the long-awaited Jack flash-forward (we haven't seen a Jack-centric episode since last season's game changing finale).
  • Carlton Cuse on Libby: They have an "intention to get to Libby's story this year."
  • In regards to a Danielle flashback: This year or next year; "things revealed have to sync up with important..." Carlton was cut off by the TMI Bell, so that's all we'll get there.
  • Again, from "Paradise Lost:" In the original season four plan, two of our freighter friends (Daniel and Miles) were to have received the flashback treatment. Due to the strike-shortened season, these have been pushed to season five.

According to many websites, including http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0411008/episodes#year-2008
http://www.tv.com/lost/show/24313/episode_guide.html?season=4&tag=season_dropdown;dropdown;3
and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Lost_episodes#Season_4:_2008
the name of episode 9 is The Shape of Things to Come. Wikipedia sites ^ Lindelof, Damon; Cuse, Carlton. (2008-03-21). The Official Lost Audio Podcast [Podcast]. ABC as their source. Is that good enough to add the name to the episode list? Also, there is a preview of this episode on youtube. It says "All of the Oceanic Six have been revealed" while showing six people: Jack, Sayid, Sun, Hurley, Aaron and Kate. So I think they are the Oceanic Six.

I found this at another site regarding "Lost."

"THIS YEAR IS ALL ABOUT the castaways' relationship to the freighter folk,'' says Cuse of the season's four intriguing new characters. ''Our heroes will find themselves defending the island they wanted to leave.'' Adds Lindelof: ''How did some people get off the island — and what happened to the people who didn't? That's the mystery that we owe the answer to at the end of the season.'' Another mystery that'll be answered: the identity of Coffin Corpse from Jack's flash-forward. "
