FAQ: The Show

About the storylines and plot of LOST:

What's the deal with Tallahassee?
  • References to Tallahassee, FL seem to have started out as a joke that has turned into an animosity between the city of Tallahassee and the writers. Perhaps some of the writers are democrats and disliked the governor at the time (Jeb Bush, brother to President George W. Bush); perhaps someone on staff is a Gator or a 'Cane (the Florida State Seminoles' chief rivals in college football); perhaps they just thought the name was funny. We may never know.
What happened to Rose and Bernard? Did The Others get them? Is it a conspiracy?
  • As answered on a podcast episode by Carlton Cuse, while Rose and Bernard are still around, the actors that portray them have other gigs to do. The producers don't want to make them fly down to Hawaii just to hang out in the background of Nikki and Paulo's funeral. They will, however, return in "Greatest Hits."
So if the plane was found and everyone was dead, it's purgatory, right? And the producers have lied to us? PS: They're lying about the nanobots, too, right?
  • No. As stated on the April 30, 2007 podcast, the island is still not purgatory and there are some other options for the parachutist's statement. Likewise, they would not go back on something they'd repeatedly said was not true as is the cast with the Black Smoke = Nanobots theory.
