- The first activity was to compare the two versions of the photo of Sonya, and find the differences. Zooming in the photo will show the differences, each with a message. There are four differences: left eye, which says Sundra Trench; right eye, which says Christine I; mole, which says Black Rock; and a scar, which says "tell no one- grave consequences."

An email from an unknown sender is sent to Sam Thomas. People must look through the email to see where the email came from. Towards the bottom, it says The-Maxwell-Group.com.
- The next is in a dark room, and people must look for clues connected to the first, second, and third season of Lost. The first clue is a Driveshaft CD, second is a pearl necklace, and the third is a rocking chair, just like Jacob's.

The fourth activity is a mini-game where Sam's bag needs to be packed. This was played on ABC.com, and in Australia, Yahoo!7.com. It is like jigsaw puzzle, where the pieces fit together, but it is possible to have more than one combination. Once completed, the code MATTHEW appears on ABC.com, and ABADDON on Yahoo!7.com (both people in the Bible).
- After typing either code at Find815.com, the phone number for an Oceanic Airlines hotline appears. Upon phoning the number, an automated message talks about Flight 815. The person says that the investigation is a long process, and there have been no additional information regarding the crash.

Sam receives two emails. The first is from Tracy R, who talks about the Christine I, which is a ship docked at Jakarta. The second i from David Massingham, who books Sam a flight to Jakarta. There is also a website on his computer about the Sundra Trench.
- Sam receives an email from Sean Dowling, who is works as the employee relations for Oceanic Airlines. He say that his job at Oceanic Airlines has ended due to the public criticism. Sam then writes to Austral Air, an airline company, for job opportunities.

The first video is a news report about Flight815. Sam Thomas is talking about the disappearance of her girlfriend, who was on the flight. It is also mentioned that the search for the plane has been called off.
- The second video shows Sam looking at his email infobox, which shows one new email. The email has a picture of Sonya, and Sam looks at it in shock.
- Sam writes the four codes seen in the differences of the photo of Sonya, and replies to the message. However, the message is returned, unsent, and a sourcing code is seen in it.
- Sam goes to the wall, where a map of the world is posted. He looks for the Sundra Islands of Indonesia on the map.
- The fifth video shows Sam waking up in the middle of the night. He goes inside a room in his house, and at the window, he sees a reflection of Sonya for a brief moment.

The final video in chapter 1 is a video dairy. In it, he says he will be going to Jakarta to go aboard the Christine I, in search for the Black Rock. He talks about his intentions of proposing to Sonya. The video has several glitches, and right after he says The Maxwell Group, a green image of a man, who turns out to be Oscar Talbot appears. Also, at the end of it, a screenshot of J.J. Abrams' new movie, Cloverfied, is briefly seen.
