It could be all in hurley's mind since there is a picture of an island that looks like the lost island in the psychologist's office in the "Dave" episodeItI

This is the answer which makes the most sense. First, one has to either accept the possibility of supernatural events to make any other story line possible. Rejecting that possibility then we must conclude this is all some sort of dream or hallucination which either one of the characters has created or someother person entirely. It would be most consistent with logic to assume that Hurley is the person with the dream/nightmare because he is the individual who has won the lottery. Unless there is some force in the universe that caused the ping pong balls to come up as the winning number, then the odds of Hurley winning a lottery are probably around 3.7 billion to 1 (that's just a guess but the actual math would be something like 42 x n-1 to the 6th, i.e., we know that the numbers in the game went from 1 to at least 42 (if you froze the tv on your vcr you'd probably be able to identify higher numbered balls but I'm just going by what is actually possible) so you'd then have to assume that the odds of any individual number coming up are 1 in 42. Multiply that by the odds of a second number coming up which would be 1 in 41 because you've removed the first ball drawn from the machine. That total number would then be multiplied by 40 and so on. Of course since the Wiki indicates that one of the show's producers have already discounted this theory we will just have to wait and see when all is said and done.

I hope it isn't. That's basically the equivalent of saying that they woke up and it was all a dream. It's not really a plot; it's more like "Sorry we couldn't think of any way to work this out."

I'm such a fan of Lost....I just hope that it's NOT in any particluar character's mind. I want it to be real. And what's the deal with Jack and Kate? Did they know each other before or was this a preview into the future?

Loving series 3 but where is Walt's dog? No one seems bothered that he has disappeared. Are where are Rose and Jeromme? Have they left as well?

After Feb. 14th's episode I'm beginning to think it's all in Desmond's head. Follow me here...he was shipwrecked on the island, alone when the plane crashes, rushes to the crash site, he is trying to save the passengers but realizes he can't change the outcome. They're going to die, if not already. He goes back in his head giving them lives and stories trying to get a different scenerio. This thing better not end with Desmond standing over a bunch of dead passengers at the time of the crash.

It is all Locke's dream. When he wakes up he will be back at the box factory in his wheel chair. Check the web, it's true!

The numbers were related to the hatch that Locke found. They related to the computer that Desmond used. They were given out of the mayday call, by the french voice (Danielle and man's voice). They were carved into Ekos staff. I think these numbers have a connection to several of the losties, Hurley just got hit hardest with them. I'm willing to bet that these numbers intertwined with more of the losties and maybe the others and I'm sure we have not heard the last of them

The numbers have a strong connection to Hurley that has barely been touched upon. The lottery ticket and the mental hospital.
