The Actor: Ian - The Hatch
Background: Ian Somerhalder was born in Convington, Louisiana. His mother is a massage therapist, while his father is a building contractor. They divorced when he was young. He went to a Catholic school. Ian began modelling at the age of 10, for Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabanna, Gucci, Versace, and Guess. He then went into acting, with his first major role in The Rules Of Atrraction. He had a starring role in the 2006 horror thriller Pulse. Additionally. he appeared as Adam Knight in the third season of Smallville, has guest roles in the CSI spinoffs, The Big Easy, and Recess.

Trivia:
  • He was the face of Guess? for two consecutive Fall seasons.
  • Doesn't like to talk about his modelling career because of the impressions people might get of him as just being another pretty face.
  • Played varsity soccer and baseball.
  • Shares a birthday with former co-star Dominic Mongahan.

Pre-Lost signature role: Mysterious Adam Knight on Smallville.

Fun facts: Something of a clean freak, as he told Aisha Tyler on The Late, Late Show, he sometimes takes as many as three showers a day.
