Hmmm, i never thought of it that way
i would have to say i agree with the ring part. makes perfect sence. and as soon as Liam gave Charlie the ring, he started to turn into a man(supporting his family/get off the drugs/ etc)
But Desmond did not want him to die. he tried to go down, but Charlie knocked him out with the ore.
And also. it didnt actually show desmonds last vision, so he may have been lying about some of it. or all of it.
Who knows. i think he was lying about it all personallyl. Because he said he saw claire get on the chopper and get rescued with Aaron.
Witch is not happening. Claire went nuts or whatever happened to her. and Aaron is back in the states with Jack and Kate.

First off we dont know if Charlie is dead or not, we should find out tonight.
Second i strongly disagree with your statement if he is dead accept, i think he would ahve let Desmond go down to the looking glass ACCEPT that Desmond had a vision of charlie drowning and then claire and arron getting rescued by a helicopter.
But it didnt accually show Desmond's vision, he jsut said it, so he could be making it up for all we know.
