But I don't see why; when Charlie realized the boat wasn't what they thought it was; why couldn't he run out of the room? The vision was already changed when they realized rhe boat was something different. so Charlie didn't have to die. He died for nothing which gets me so upset."

Charlie died because Desmond said that he saw Claire and Aaron get on a helicopter and leave the island so Charlie Sacrefised himself for Claire and Aaron :/ Charlie Was My favorite too Now its sayid :)

Hmmm, i never thought of it that way
i would have to say i agree with the ring part. makes perfect sence. and as soon as Liam gave Charlie the ring, he started to turn into a man(supporting his family/get off the drugs/ etc)
But Desmond did not want him to die. he tried to go down, but Charlie knocked him out with the ore.
And also. it didnt actually show desmonds last vision, so he may have been lying about some of it. or all of it.
Who knows. i think he was lying about it all personallyl. Because he said he saw claire get on the chopper and get rescued with Aaron.
Witch is not happening. Claire went nuts or whatever happened to her. and Aaron is back in the states with Jack and Kate.
