Occupation: Leader of the mercenary team.

Hails from: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

Who he was before: Martin Keamy, according to Ben, served as first sergant in the United States Marine Corps between 1996 and 2001. He later started working for several mercenary groups, including a major one in Uganda.

Who he is now: Keamy, along with Omar and several other people were firing weapons on the Kahana. Kevin Johnson approached them, questioning the reasons why people need weapons on a rescue mission. Kemay asked Kevin if there was anything he should be cleaning up.

Keamy and Omar were present when Desmond and Sayid arrived on the Kahana. He questioned Frank as to why he brought them to the freighter. They brought Desmond to the sick bay, bringing the Doctor, and locking him inside with George Minkowski. After the Doctor pulled the emergency alarm, Keamy and Omar took Frank to see the captain.

Keamy, along with five other mercenaries, took the helicopter to the Island. They are responsible for the deaths of Karl and Rousseau. He took Alex captive, and used her in an attempt to capture Ben. Once they arrived at the Barracks, Ben refused to leave the house. Keamy kills Alex, prompting Ben to summon the Monster to attack the mercenaries.

Later, Keamy and the mercenaries moved through the jungle, carrying Mayhew, who was dragged by the Monster. They run into Frank, and told him to get ready to fly the helicopter before night. Aaron, who is hiding nearby with Claire, Sawyer, and Miles, makes a noise, and they are almost discovered by Keamy.

Keamy shows his deviceKeamy, along with the other mercenaries returned to the Kahana. Keamy takes a key from Captain Gault, and unlock a safe, which contains a folder with a dharma logo (the same on Ben's jacket in his flashforwards). He claims that the folder will allow him to locate Ben, saying that Charles Widmore would know where he goes. Before leaving to go to the Island again, Frank stands up against him, saying he will not fly the helicopter. Keamy threatens to kill Frank, but kills Doctor Ray instead. He threatens to kill more people, but at that moment, Captain Gault arrives, pointing a gun at him. Gault becomes distracted when Keamy shows the device he is wearing, allowing Keamy to take the opportunity to shoot Gault, killing him. Frank decides to fly the chopper before more people are murdered.

When the mercenaries arrived at the Island, Keamy handcuffed Frank to the helicopter, and proceeded to the Orchid. When they arrived, they waited for Ben to arrive. When Ben came, he surrendered, and Keamy knocked him out with his gun.

Keamy visits the OrchidThe mercenaries went back to the helicopter with Ben as their prisoner. They saw Kate run out of the jungle, saying Ben's people are after her. Soon, there was a battle between the Others and the mercenaries, in which the mercenaries were killed. A grenade almost killed Keamy, but he kicked it away, killing Omar instead. Kate and Ben made a run for it, and Keamy chased them, not far behind. Sayid tackled him, and stabbed him in the back. Keamy started choking Sayid with a branch when he was shot by Richard, and presumed dead.

Ben and Locke were inside the Orchid when the elevator moved. The unexpected visitor was Keamy, who survived being shot by his bulletproof vest. He starts taunting Ben, talking about when Alex died. Locke appeared, saying he does not have any conflict with him. Ben leaps out, and attacks Keamy, knocking his knife out of his hand, and using it to stab him. Before Keamy died, he said that Widmore will never end looking for the Island, and looking for Ben. His death triggered the bomb on the Kahana to explode, killing all the people on it.

*** MINOR SPOILER FROM 5/15 EPISODE***

What do you think is the possibility of the device on his arm being the trigger for the explosives that Desmond found shortly after the engines were repaired. Perhaps if the device doesn't detect a pulse it triggers the explosives?
