What do you think is the possibility of the device on his arm being the trigger for the explosives that Desmond found shortly after the engines were repaired. Perhaps if the device doesn't detect a pulse it triggers the explosives?

"Yes, i would ahve to agree. i think its a last resort. i dont think he trusts all the crew on the freighter. So if they try something he will blow the C4 ....
