Aaron is not with the Others, he is with Kate in real time. I think that the others were trying to help Aaron before he was born with the injections they gave him in utero. I think that the spiders venom has something to do with how the Others stay where they are in time, as they don't age, and can still commune with the outside world. I think this is what Desmund was injecting himself with in the hatch, the spider venom. He just didn't know the whole story, he just thought he had to take the injections to keep himself from getting sick and dieing. It kept him able to stay focused in the time at hand, and what he was supposed to be doing and not going crazy. We know the spider venom puts you into a different state, not killing you, but making you appear dead, so I think the Darmah people had worked out a formula to use it to do different transfers mind travel. What do ya'll think? I never hear any talk about the spiders.
