The Others lost interest in Aaron once he was born! Ethan was injecting Claire (vaccine?), but once she escaped and Aaron was born he was no longer important -- apparently it was too late for whatever they were trying to do. If they find out Sun is pregnant, will they try again? They take all the children they can get their hands on (Walt, the Tailie kids) to give them "better lives", but it seems only the unborn can be "changed". This fits well with the theory of a disease/infection.
