The Spider Protocol is a top secret project by the Hanso Foundation, run by Thomas Mittelwerk. It was a virus that would kill 30% of the population, in an attempt to change the Valenzetti Equation. The original site to experiment with the protocol was an island with special features that the Hanso Foundation had not used in some time. It was then moved to other sites, but those sites did not have the right conditions to experiment. Mittelwerk decided to go back to the original site, and to fall back.

Rachel Blake found the document, along with the schematics for the Helgus Antonius, and forged travel documents to Sri Lanka. She then recorded the Sri Lanka video, where she found Thomas Mittelwerk discussing a genocide on innocent civilians for the name of scientific discovery.
