St. Sebastian Hospital is the hospital located in L.A. where Jack and Christian Shephard work at. Both of them were surgeons. Christian Shephard was the Chief of Surgery until he was stripped of his position after being under the influence of alcohol. on the job. Sarah was driving when her vehicle blew a tire, causing her to hit the center divider and hit an SUV which was being driven by Adam Rutherford (Shannon's father). Both of them where taken to the hospital. Adam died, and Sarah was expected to be paralyzed from the waist down for the rest of her life. Jack did the surgery, and miraculously, Sarah was able to move her legs. After hearing about Sarah's miracle surgery, Gabriela and Angelo Busoni came to L.A. from Italy. Angelo had a tumor on his spine, and wanted Jack to do the surgery. At first, Jack did not want to do the surgery, but decided to do it. Angelo died during the surgery due to heart complications. Another patient Jack did surgery was Beth. She died during the surgery. Jack believes that Christian was the cause of the death, which made him lose his potion of Chief of Surgery. After being rescued from the island, Jack went back to work. As he was about to do suicide by jumping of a bridge, a car crashed. Mrs. Arlen and her son were in the car, and Jack rescued them. At the hospital, Jack wanted to do the surgery on Mrs. Arlen. The current Chief of Surgery, Dr. Hamill, told Jack to take a break. Jack came back, taking oxycodone. Dr. Hamill asks Jack what he is doing, and asks why he was on the bridge at the time of the crash. he then asks how much Jack has been drinking. Jack says to bring his father done, and if he is drunker than him, he can fire him. Dr. Hamill offers Jack help, but he refuses.
