The Sundra Trench (AKA Java Trench) is located West of Indonesia, in the Indian Ocean. It is 2,600 kilometers long, and 7,725 meters deep, making it one of the deepest trenches in the Indian Ocean. It is the location of the December 26, 2004 Earthquake/Tsunami.

Both Naomi and Anthony Cooper said that the plane was found off the coast of Bali, where the southern part of the trench is at. Sam Thomas decides to go to the Sundra Islands in search for the Black Rock. He has a flight that will go to Jakarta (Indonesia's Capital), where a ship known as Christine I is located.
