Emilie de Ravin

Born: December 27, 1981
Background: Emilie de Ravin grew up in Victoria, Australia. When she was 15 she was accepted into the highly selective Australian Ballet School in Melbourne. However, after only a year she dropped out and undertook acting courses. Her first starring role was in the fantasy drama, Beastmaster. When her agent told her of a role in the US, as newcomer Tess in the hit series Roswell, she flew out and auditioned. After landing the role, she was written out of Beastmaster and started work as Tess, an alien. She relocated to California and was on Roswell before she even owned an apartment. Despite filing in Hawaii for the hit show LOST, Emilie still purses other acting projects concurrently. She starred in a recent remake of an old horror film, The Hills Have Eyes (2006). She also recently played a murdered teenage drug adict in the high school film noir Brick. She lived in California with her pet dog, Bella, and her huband, Josh Janowicz, whom she married on June 19, 2006. In was announced in January 2007 that Emilie and Josh had seperated. Triva:
  • Is noted for being the person on the set least suited to holding a baby; she never holds it up to her body, rather preferring to hold it downwards like a log.
  • Played antagonist Chris Hargensen in the 2002 TV movie remake of Carrie, based on the Stephen King novel, featured prominetely in 'A Tale Of Two Cities' as Juliet's favourite book.
  • Has had recurring guest roles on CSI:Miami and NICS.
  • Both of her biggest TV roles (LOST and Roswell) have involved pregnancy, and she was a pregnant murder victim in the film 'Brick' (2005).
