Background: Elizabeth Mitchell is a Calafornia native. She was born in Los Angeles, Calafornia, USA, on March 27th 1970. She has two younger sisters: Kristie and Kate.
Shortly after she was born, her family moved to Dallas, Texas, so she had her education there. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. In 1991, she graduated from Stephens College where she earned her BFA degree in acting. She also worked for six years in Dallas Theatre Centre and a year at the Encore Theatre. Her theatrical stage credits include 'As You Like It', 'A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum', 'Measure for Measure', 'Baby', 'Chicago' and many others.
Prior to her starring role on LOST, Elizabeth starred in many films. Her most notable roles are: Linda in Gia, Mrs Sullivan in the film Frequency, Edele in the film Running Scared, and Carole Newman Calvin in The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Claus. She has also guest-starred in numerous TV shows, including JAG, Boston Legal, CSI, ER and House.

Family: married to actor Chris Soldevilla; son: Christopher Jr.
