The Cove is a geological rock formation on the island. The type of rocks show that the island was created by a volcano many years ago. Kelvin Inman had been fixing The Elizabeth,Elizabeth, the boat Desmond was on when he crashed on the island. One Day, Desmond followed Kelvin to this point. Desmond wanted to know why he had lied to him about the quarantine. Desmond grabbed Kelvin and bashed him against the rock, accidentally killing him.

The tailies, along with Michael, Sawyer, and Jin, walked through this area while heading for the camp.
