The Listening Station is a small building located in an Arctic/Antarctic region. The actual location is not known, but the mountains and the climate suggests it is Antarctica. It is operated by two Portuguese speaking people, Mathias and Henrik.

The two men were playing chess when a notice on the computer appeared. This occurred after the discharge on the island. The computer read: >/ 7418880 Electromagnetic Anomaly Detected. They noticed the computer, and started to panic, wondering if they missed it, or if it is real or not. One of them picks up the phone. On the other side of the line is Penelope Widmore. She picks up, and the man says "I think we found it".
