The Lockdown happened when the blast doors suddenly closed, sealing the living room of
the Swan from the rest of the station. At first, a voice from the speaker started counting down from 9 to 1. Then the blast doors go down, but not in unison. At the time
Locke is with the prisoner known as
Henry Gale. Locke managed to place a crowbar under one of the doors, which they used to partially lift it up. They put a toolbox underneath the door so Locke can crawl underneath, but the toolbox gives way, causing the door to crush Locke's legs.
Locke tells Henry to crawl through the vents to get to the computer rum, and input
the numbers. Henry attempts to, but falls, and is knocked unconscious just as the timer starts to beep. He soon gains conscious, and climbs into the vent as the one minute alarm goes off. It then stops, and the sound of the numbers flipping are heard, and then there is a sound, like something powering up. Then the numbers stop flipping and the lights go out. Suddenly, a black light turns on, revealing
a map that is drawn on the door. Roughly ten seconds later, the lights go out, and the blast doors are lifted.
The origin of the lockdown was discovered by Radzinsky, who managed to manually force a lockdown by shorting the power supply wires.
Kelvin and
Desmond did this regularly so Kelvin could work on creating
the blast door map. Desmond also forced a lockdown so that
Mr. Eko could not enter the room to push the button, because
Locke wanted it to reach to zero.
Questions: - What causes a lockdown to occur without anyone forcing it to happen?
