The Tempest supplies power to the Island, and also contains a toxic gas. Like some stations, it was built underground, with a bunker-like building as the entrance. Inside the Tempest is computers and electronic equipment.

Goodwin worked at the station some time after the Purge. During his time there, he got a chemical burn which Juliet tended to.

Daniel and Charlotte went to the Tempest to disable the gas from being released. Juliet arrives, and thinks they are trying to release it. Charlotte attacks her, and they start fighting as Daniel tries to stop the contamination release. An alarm is sounding, which is very similar to the alarm in the Swan, and a voice is counting down the time to contamination. Daniel manages to stop the release before contamination is reached.
