This theory makes no sense...how is it that Mikhal could come back to life? How about some of the camera moves? The POV of the cameras are never like that of a "hidden camera".

If everything was to be explained, nothing supernatural as the producers expressed when the show began this makes sense. Not actually a show but a Truman show created world that is running as a ridiculous experiment gone bad. How else could Desmond know that Locke was going to make a speech and lightning was going to strike. Locke is in on it too.
The smoke is Scooby Doo-like. Used to take people out and appear they are dead. Meanwhile the actor playing Eko or whoever is removed from the set. A mock-up is inserted and those who are in on it verify the death and prepare "the body" for burial.
This is also supported when Ben heard they had a ship. Someone said "who cares they'll just sail around for awhile until they find they can't get anywhere". Ben never disputed that, he just wanted them found.
The biggest factor is the crash itself, where else have you heard of a plane crash of this magnitude where that many people survive. However if you drug the people and toss them in the water with evidence of a plane crash what are they going to believe happened.
The biggest question is, who's in on it and who's not.

i think the producers wouldn't made Lost just to make a tv-show with hidden cameras. lost is no that kidn of show and i don't think that everybody would laugh because losties have suffered so muh,people died and they were captured and obused. this is not a commercial.

I stil think this is a reality show. Our society seems to be moving in some kind of perverse direction. This show crosses the line and people really do die. Society demands REALITY. Of course it is being shown on some obscure cable channel that flies under the radar of the FCC. ; )

..Asin The Truman show..the important thing to grasp is,,that all that he experienced was a facade,, an Illusion,,while real, but not TRUE, His whole life was based on ILLUSION. This same ILLUSION METAPHOR is with us in the Island, Smokie, Polar bears, Others,,even the Crash,, even the Flashbacks. While it is all presented as Real..its all illusion in the sense that it doesn't hold any Truth,, The Truth, is what is evolved to,, found, at the end of every episode. Good or bad, its there for you to think about. What you think, is your Truth, Your Reality,, who You Are...The Ultimate reality show..
