The Zodiac Raft is the Kahana's tender. It was first used by George Minkowski and Brandon, who tried to get to the Island, but without success. They both later died from disorientation of time. Some time later, two crewmen attempted to escape the Kahana using the Zodiac, but were stopped by Captain Gault.

Captain Gault gave the Zodiac to Sayid so he can start ferrying people from the Island to the Kahana. He warned him to travel at an exact bearing of 305. After arriving at the beach, Daniel began to take people to the ship, six at a time. The first group to go were Sun, Jin, Aaron, and three other survivors. After arriving at the ship, he turned back immediately to transport the next group of survivors.

When Daniel arrived back to the Island, he told Charlotte and Miles that they should be on the raft with the next group of people. They both decided to stay on the Island. Daniel leaves with the next group, but never reach the Kahana, because it exploded. When Ben moved the Island, the location of the Zodiac became uncertain.
