The Oceanic 6 are six survivors of Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 who ultimately get rescued from the Island. They have now all been revealed, no more guessing games. They are as follows.

Jack	Q: How do we know Jack is one of the Oceanic 6? A: We know he is one of the Oceanic 6 because it was first revealed in the Season three finale "Through the Looking Glass". Q: What is his current status after being rescued? A: Went back to work and had a strong relationship with Kate, but had a downfall and became depressed, desperately trying to return to the Island.
Kate	Q: How do we know Kate is one of the Oceanic 6? A: We know she is one of the Oceanic 6 because it was first revealed in a flashforward in "Through The Looking Glass". Q: What is her current status after being rescued? A: Went on trial for her murder, and received 10 years probation. Had a relationship with Jack, but broke up. Currently pretends to be Aaron's mother.
Hurley	Q: How do we know Hurley is one of the Oceanic 6? A: We know he is one of the Oceanic 6 because it was first revealed in a flashforward in "The Beginning of the End". Q: What is his status after being rescued? A: A year after being rescued, he is sent back to Santa Rosa after becoming crazy when he saw Charlie in a convenience store.
Sayid	Q: How do we know Sayid is one of the Oceanic 6? A: We know he is one of the Oceanic 6 because it was first revealed in a flashforward in "The Economist". Q: What is his status after being rescued? A: Works for Ben as an assassin after the murder of Nadia. He is doing this to protect his "friends" (presumed to be the Oceanic 6).
Aaron	Q: How do we know Aaron is one of the Oceanic 6? A: We know he is one of the Oceanic 6 because it was first revealed in a flashforward in "Eggtown". Q: What is his status after being rescued? A: Was taken under the care of Kate, who pretends to be his mother.
Sun	Q: How do we know Sun is one of the Oceanic 6? A: We know she is one of the Oceanic 6 because it was first revealed in a flashforward in "Ji Yeon". Q: What is her status after being rescued? A: Gave birth to Ji Yeon several months after being rescued. Became an important figure in her father's business after buying a controlling interest for the company.

Others that have gotten off the Island but are not in the Oceanic 6: Ben, Frank, Desmond, Walt, Locke and Michael

• Jack said to Kate that he is tired of all the lies. ("Through The Looking Glass")
• Hurley claims to have never seen Ana-Lucia. ("The Beginning of the End")
• Jack went to visit Hurley, and asks if he has revealed any secrets. ("The Beginning of the End")
• Jack lies about what happened on the island during his testimony at Kate's trial. This includes saying 8 people survived the plane crash. However, there were 71 initial survivors of the crash. He also says the plane crashed in the ocean, and that Kate rescued everyone. Only the tail section landed in the ocean. ("Eggtown")
• Kate's mother says "I want to see my grandson," which implies that Aaron is being passed off as Kate's child, not Claire's. ("Eggtown")
• The date of death on Jin's grave is September 22, 2004. This was the date of the crash, but we know he was alive on the island for months after this. ("Ji Yeon")

The Press Conference:

Not long after being rescued, Oceanic Airlines held a press conference about the events that have happened. Karen Decker, the representative of Oceanic Airlines said that the plane crashed off shore the island of Membata. There, Kate gave birth to Aaron. On day 103, a typhoon washed ashore a boat, living them supplies and a raft. On day 108, they are rescued on the Island of Sumba. The survivors took questions from the press. Jack says the 8 people escaped, using life jackets and seat cushions to float. One of the questions, asked to Sayid, was if there was a possibility of other survivors, to which he replies "absolutely not".

On the enhanced version of "There's No Place Like Home: Part 1", Jack says that the three survivors that died on the Island were Boone, Libby, and Charlie.


The Real Story:

Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, and Hurley were the four people Frank rescued from the Island using the helicopter. Sawyer jumped off the helicopter, because it did not have enough fuel to carry all the weight. Sun, Jin, and Aaron, were among several other survivors who were taken to the Kahana. Desmond, who previously had arrived on the ship warned that there was a bomb on the boat. The helicopter is quickly refueled and Frank takes off, taking Jack, Kate, Sun, Sayid, Hurley, Desmond, and Aaron. Sun pleads that they land and take Jin, who appeared on deck after helping Michael freeze the explosives. Frank does not land, and the Kahana explodes, presumably killing the people on board. Jack tells Frank to take them back to the Island, but Ben, who was in the Orchid, manages to move the island, leaving the helicopter no place to land. It crash lands in the ocean, and the eight people survive, and wait for rescue in a life raft.

Later they see a boat in the distance, and are spotted. The ship, called the Searcher, is carrying Penelope Widmore. Before they are taken on board, Jack tells everyone that they must lie about everything that has happened to them, the advice Locke gave to him. Desmond and Penny spot each other, reunite for the first time in over 3 years. A week later, the Oceanic 6 take the raft and sail to Sumba, where they are rescued.
