My theory - Watched up to season 4.2 on DVD-It's a Dimentional Portal
Just started watching Lost a month ago (all on Blu-ray DVD - on my 12 foot home theater - which is GREAT!)
My theory is that there must be writers from Star-Trek on the show - because this sure looks like a dimensional portal. It is the only explanation - For instance, when Juliet is shown the image of her sister (having survived the cancer and being with her baby, that must have been a dimension where her sister never got cancer!)
I think the people from this island can travel to and from any dimension they want... which explains why they know so much about everyone... I find this show so addicting, that I couldn't wait for the next dvd to be sent from netflix and started streaming the episodes on my computer!
I might be all wrong, since I haven't seen past season 4.2, but I just had to add my 2 cents.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers?
Is it just me or is this getting to be alot like the movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers (whichever version you like of it)? I mean when the black smoke (Locke) takes over people (i.e. Claire, Sayeed, etc...) they suddenly do not have any emotions.
At least that's the way I see it.

Egyptian Gods
Lost is a dramatization of battle between the Egyptian god (Ra/Sobek) and his fight with the netherworld god ( Apep/Annubis) in todays world with many players from the Egyptian legends being part of the charachters of the show. Ra/Sobek is Jacob (both having healing qulities and more indirect roles to play...) and Apep/Anubis is the smoke moster and the roles of them can be campared that of the Egyptian gods where Apep is described as a monster that is continually figting Ra/Sobek in the Egyption Duat "netherworld". THe charecterstics of the Apep/Anubis is to judge the dead based on theie actions in life which can be seen in some of the episodes of the smoke monster showcasing peoples life before killing them. Other characters in the show like Robert could be Osiris who the Egyptions endown as a permanently youthful God. The island itself can be considered the meeting place of the known world and the netherworld of the Egyptian description thus allowing for bending of most of the normal rules that apply. The Dharma initiative is a symbolism of the Dharmic practices (correct practices) the allow for judgments between right and wrong.

What's next?
I cannot imagine how everyone on the island will survive a nuclear? (atomic?) blast. A bomb would blow the island away. There would be nothing left but dust and a lot of radiation. But; imagining this show the way
I do anything could happen out of that blast. For all any of us know this bomb might put them back to the age of the Dinosaur. That would be cool. I wonder what that bald, bearded angry guy from the Darma Initiative's face
would look like when he's being chased down by a T Rex, or a couple of Rapters.
I do hope season 6 will be the best season yet and almost everyone has a happy ending in the season.

Everything that rises must converge
I don't know if this was touched on yet, but does anyone have a theory about this book Jacob is shown reading?
I looked it up on line and found an explaination of the story and this:
The story’s title refers to an underlying religious message that is central to her [the author's] work: she aims to expose the sinful nature of humanity that often goes unrecognized in the modern, secular world.
It doesn't really mean that much to me, but reading it over just now made me think of Rose and Bernard and what they said about traveling back 30 years in time and how they (Jack, Sawyer, Kate, etc.) are still trying to find ways to shoot eachother.
BTW, are Rose and Bernard living in Jacob's hut?

Time Travel: The past, present, and future
We have seen the survivors go to different time periods, including some during the time they crashed on the Island. What if in previous seasons, some of the characters who are time travelling have actually interacted with other survivors. What I mean by this is that we may have seen some people from the future in past episodes without even realizing this. Here are some examples:
Rose was certain that Bernard was alive when they first crashed, despite him being in the tail section. Locke has a way of knowing what is best for the survivors (and even can accurately predict when it will rain).
I was also thinking about Adam and Eve from Season 1. I think that it could be possible that these skeletons are current characters that have traveled in the past (Jack or Sawyer and Kate could be one example).
Before Charlotte died, she said that Daniel had warned her never to come back to the Island in the past. Daniel could have traveled to a time with the Dharma Initiative, as seen in the season 5 premiere, and warned her not to come because he knows she will die. However, since you cannot change the past, his attempts will ultimately fail.

I was thinking it would be interesting maybe if Widmore, and Ben were some how brothers. It's unlikely, but maybe they something related to each other through Jacob.

Did anyone hear.....
I heard from a show that I was watching that the writers didn't really know what was going to happen. But then, one of the writers said that "I was actually thinking that those sounds that would sound, like on the first episode wasn't the black cloud in the end, it was a turtle. In the end they may be living on a giant turtle." Of course I think that is the most rediculous ending ever, and I'm sure they won't dare do that ending, but I was wondering if anyone else hear that theory too.

Juliet's Sister
This isn't actually about who's in the coffin, but something else that happens during that episode that no-one seems to remember. Jack is about to kill himself by jumping off a bridge. At that moment, a woman and her 8-year old son are driving towards him and they crash into his motionless car. He saves them. I have a theory that the woman was Juliet's sister and that the 8-year old son was her son. I actually don't know why I'm saying this, but I don't think we're going to see the last of them. That's all.
Oh, and to say I'm contributing to this mystery, let's forget everything I just said and say that the person in the coffin was Juliet's sister. :P I actually don't think that. I think it was Michael.

I think Juliet is in the coffin cause kate didnt like her much and Jack did. So Jack would go to her funeral. Mabye her sister died because of her cancer so no one else could come.

Cabin Fever
Lock is told to move the island. We must not think of this as actually moving the island. But moving it to a different position in time. With the electromagnets on the island it is very possible to open a new worm hole and shift the island to a new point in time. But how will that throw off everything else? Is it possible the move it to when the 815er's land on the island to make their rescue seem quick? Or do they move it so far ahead in time or in revers that there is actually civilization on the island (building reflection in water).

what do we have?
We have black smoke ,appearing animals,apparitions, numbers, jacob --all a bit supernatural?
We have captured children, child bearing research, a man to have a baby (blondes research), cancer curing techniques--child obsessed?
we have survivors from a plane , experiemented on but not killed--tests?
We have 'others' and 'boaters',that seem to be against each other.
We have dhamma project (teacher). The dhammapada is a teacher in buddha/buddism
We have a hatch with a button pushing need, an island with magnetic problems
We have what seems to be time travel or at least in ones own mind.
What does it all equal????????????????????????????????????????????????????

aliens and time travel?
The smoke monster, the illusions, the mind warps ...who can do this, Aliens. (lol.)
With an ability for time travel, the aliens are affiliated with Ben and Charlie (the 'others' and 'boat' people), traveling back and forth through time. Dhama Project (Dhama is teacher). The project is designed to 'teach' mankind lessons they need to learn.
However, there are 'good' and 'bad' intentions in this project. Thus 'Ben' 'Charlie' and 'others' all have different views, perhaps some are human and some are aliens?
The aliens can no longer support life on their planet and need a habitable planet, concerned with 'child-bearing' on the island and how a 'man' can have a baby. Perhaps this is the only option they have, living here in this island? An island with magnetic and seemingly amazing abilities, because the magnetic fields in accord with the alien technology is able to produce such effects? In addition needing to teach humanity lessons of somekind?
These characters on the plane were needed, each for their different abilities to offer this project. Thus strategicaly picked and brought there.
Jacob is a leader in the alien dhama project?

i think that this is how Claire and Jack find out how there related! Claire should se the ghost of her dad (also Jack's dad!) while she's w/ Jack and she asks if he can see him and Jack sees him 2 and says thats my father!
