Who/what started the attempted release of the gas.
Mar 9 2008, 5:28 AM EDT
Can't get my head round how the attempted release started. Ben claims that the Freighter people are their to kill them all but the events at the seem to prove this wrong. But if not them then who started the 'count down' that they (Daniel and Charlotte) prevented. Surely Ben didn't trigger it as it would have killed him too, unless he has a gas mask in his cell. Maybe one of the other Others have done it but then why would Ben send Harper to have Daniel and Chralotte intercepted as it would still result in his death. I'll re-watch the episode and come back with my views. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

oh boy...now I have my work cut out for me....I have to watch it again....I missed all that...I thought Daniel was making sure it could never be used....I didn't realize it was about to go off...."where has Richard been"??? He wouldn't care if Ben died...and it looks as if the can love forever anyway....but no that's too easy an answer...hmmm... 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I just assumed that the countdown started when Daniel began rendering the gas inert. Maybe the computer system has a built in mechanism or Ben or someone under his direction programmed it to start the countdown if there was an attempt to change the system. It's way too convienient that they set out for the Tempest and someone else had started a countdown on the same day that they showed up. Do you find this valuable?

Extremely good pointn UGAfan, I hadn't thought of that and hence my confusion. I just could not understand why it would suddenly just happen to be on a count down as they arrived at the station. Nicely observed. Do you find this valuable?
