May 17 2008, 1:51 PM EDT I've always thought it would be between Locke and Ben. If I had to narrow it down to one person, I would guess Locke. No one would go to his funeral, and he is not a friend or family to Jack. The only problem with this is that Locke will do anything to stay on the Island. While Jack and Locke have a fierce rivalry, Locke could do something that will ultimately make Jack forgive him. That is my official guess: John Locke. Also, remember, only guesses on THIS THREAD will count, if you make another thread about who you think it will be, it will be INVALID, and you will not receive a prize if you are right. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. I don't think Jack or Kate would have known whatever alias Ben was using, and the utter disdain in Kate's voice when she asked "Why would I go to the funeral?" makes me think it's someone who betrayed them so unforgetfully. I think it's Michael. At least, today, I do. ;-) Do you find this valuable? |

May 22 2008, 9:36 AM EDT i think it's Locke. i have a bajillion reasons, but he's the one defending the island right now and those freighter people are NUTS. i don't think it's completely impossible that they kill him. plus, relating to the obit, he's not ignorant to planing fake obits (duh, his father did it). PLUS, i think the absence of him (or a mention of him off the island - like sawyer) in any of the flashforwards is a sign. i don't think they're going to kill off Ben, because there's still SO much that we don't know about him. The cabin fever episode focused on Locke and the fact that Richard has been 'stalking' him his whole life... i'm not completely sure that we're done with Locke, but i think he's nuts enough to give up his life for the island. (plus it's not like he's actually 'dead' right? i mean, christian's freakin' alive, right? maybe Locke's gonna end up a dream hopping crazy like horace. or a vision like taller ghost walt.) heh. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. May 22 2008, 11:51 AM EDT After seeing the flash forwards, & knowing that Ben is still alive, I would have to guess that it is Michael. Reason? He did a LOT of things to hack everybody off! Also, he is on the freighter & I am thinking that he may have survived whatever happens on there. He wasn't 'friend or family', as the funeral director asked Jack. None of the other Oceanic 6 came to the funeral &, like someone else said on a post from another website, the funeral home was in a black neighborhood & the funeral director was black. This is one of THE questions that I have been wanting answered since the flash forward! I absolutely canNOT wait! I seemed to have narrowed it down to Michael. It just seems like the logical guess. MY logical guess, anyway! Remember! The guy asked Jack 'friend or family' & he said 'neither'. Soooo, it can't be Juliet. Perhaps John. But, John doesn't want to leave the island & the island has such a hold on him(in more ways than one)that I don't believe he would get off the island in ANY capacity! The island just wouldn't let him! Sooo, my official guess is MICHAEL! Good Luck to all! *This is the first show that I know of that creates this kind of a buzz & this kind of theorization!(Is that even a word?)I love it!* Do you find this valuable? |

We know from the fast forward that she did not make it off the Island, and Kate was looking after the baby. We know from the fast forward that she did not make it off the Island, and Kate was looking after the baby."the baby kate is taking care of is claire's baby (aaron), not sun's (and i'm pretty sure she's korean, not japanese...). and sun makes it off the island (she's one fo the oceanic 6). and she has to baby off the island (that was a flash forward). now, in your defense, hurley was with sun when she went to jin's grave. hurley was normal and not at all santa rosa special guest-ish. which would suggest that it was before he and jack went crazy (if i'm not mistaken, the jack that visits the funeral home is crazy bearded druggie jack - but i could be wrong about that.) so sun COULD be in the coffin later, but why would jack say she was not a friend? and the obit siad it was a man. i'm still going with locke. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

May 22 2008, 1:31 PM EDT Well, its between Locke and Michael for me. Obviously, they are trying to hide the identity of the real name sincewe have never heard of a John Lantham. John Lantham is close to John Locke, and since we know Ben is still alive, he may have had Locke killed, being jealous over how Jacob started favoring Locke. However, I don't think Locke has any kids, and firmly beleive that if he ever leaves the island, he will not be able to walk, and thus would ne very hard to commit suicide (or have his suicide faked) by hanging from a beam. So, I'm going to go with Michael. His son is probably about 13 (a teen), and he is from New York. Jack might have partly forgiven him for what he did since he tried to save them all, and probably ends up playinga big part in saving them all. He lives in LA now since Walt never forgives him, and thus tries to get as far away from NYC as possible. Also, I don't think it's Desmond since he obviously is not from New York, and Faraday does not have a New York accent. Do you find this valuable? |

May 22 2008, 1:49 PM EDT I think Sayid.....Sayid went underground as Ben's hitman...killing whoever Ben wanted him too! ..Ben knew (if or when) Sayid was to die he would have to cover it up.....When Jack and Kate found out Sayid is now on Ben side.....Kate of course would hate him....Jack is overwhelm by guilt...Jack is the one who did get them off the island...calling the ship....now Hurley, Sayid and Jack life is really messed up and now they all have to livea lie. Jack also is worried about the people he lefted on the island.....I think it's Sayid in the coffin Do you find this valuable? |

Unless he is alive in an alternate reality and dead in this one. If that is the case, anyone could be in the coffin, and still be alive in another reality!! Or no one for that matter. We have no idea what Frank did with her body after he brought Desmond and Sayid over with her to the freighter. It was too abrupt a departure. So they may have shipped it back with the Oceanic Six, if they didn't just dump at sea. Plus the coffin is a smaller one. I read somewhere that the producers had ruled out that it was Walt, and Michael would be too obvious. Although, it could be others on the freighter or on the island, as well. Anyway, that's my wild guess. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
