fenixha15	I have cracked the black smoke Feb 13 2009, 3:55 PM EST Well I watched lost yesterday and i must say it was amazing but I noticed one thing odd its about the black smoke when he attacked that white guy his actions were weird as if those of a snake (he also looked like a giant black snake) and how he presented himself sliding on the ground then sticking his head up ( almost like a rattle snake showing he is going to attack) and then i thought about it then i looked at previous attacks of the black smoke and when he attacked eko He used the actions of an elephant how he grabed eko by his trunk and swung him around and if you look closely he is almost shaped like an elephant. After years of watching the show I made a con clusion Vincient is the black smoke he is never around when the black smoke is even the first episode we saw him once he ran off into the jungle a few hours later and the black smoke eating trees appears. and these last two episodes last week Sawyer or Locke found vincints colar next episode Boom Black smoke takes down that white french dude but of course vincient wasn't around to see it . Heck even when jack, kate and charlie went heading into the forest I think they were headed towards the front part of the plane for the radio thing as they were walking we saw vincient watching them go down a path next thing you know they make it to the head of the plane and boom black smoke monster picks up the pilot shakes him down for his milk money then leves him in the tree. (I beileve it was the pilot episode) and also remember when Walt goes out looking for vincient well next thing you know theres a polar bear trying to get him wich had pitch black eyes almost like he was satans polar bear what i beileve is that the black smoke can take any shape or form but it must have been on the island first like Polar bears were testd on the island or ekos brother who crashed landed there first. now don't you see a pattern here Vincint = black smoke. In Greek/Roman mythology Cerberus is the mulitheaded dog that guards Hades. There you have my theory on the smoke monster. ;) Post reply Do you find this valuable?

The smoke monster was there before Vincent, and we learned in a season 4 episode that it is a security system controlled by BEN. Nothing to do with Vincent. Why not some dog from mythology? It's not as if the writers haven't pulled from history/theology/mythology before. That's part of the fun of the series. Again it's name is Cerberus, which I explained what that is. Rousseau's(sp?) crew explains that it is a sort of security system that was guarding the temple... What kind of temple, we don't know... The black smoke, may not be literally the three headed dog from mythology that guardes Hades, but I still say the mythology may give us some clues. As for Vincent/black smoke theory. We know the black smoke was there before Flight 815 crashed, and Vincent was on Flight 815, which debunks the original poster's theory for me. Post reply Do you find this valuable?

We know that the black smoke was there before flight 815 crashed... We don't know if Christian Sheppard is alive or dead. His body wasn't in the casket when Jack found it in the first season. However we continually see him relative to Jacob, in Jacob's cabin...down in the bottom of the Orchid station with John Locke. Is he an apparition created by Jacob? Is he a ghost? Is he Jacob? Did the island bring him back to life somehow? We don't know. We know that he retains the memories of Christian Sheppard at least, he seeked out and took Claire, and he told John Locke to say hello to his son for him. Post reply Do you find this valuable?

RE: I have cracked the black smoke Feb 21 2009, 9:19 PM EST i dont think vincint is the monster it dosent make sense neither does the three headed dog i think that jacod is the black smoke or at least controles it and created it thats why ben could call it but in one of the most recen episodes one of the charictors say that the black smoke is protecting the temple so maybe the smoke is not bad but it just takes away the threats from the temple and thats why mr eko stoped the smoke with his religious stick Post reply Do you find this valuable?
