Black & White

There seems to be a significance of black & white on the show that has been even more significant in the finale of Season 5. Jacob wearing white and Jacob's mystery man/ enemy in the first scene wearing black. Also, at the end of every show the Lost logo appears in black. At the end of Season 5 finale the logo that appeared at the end of the show was white, first time ever. I also saw a picture of Jacob and Mystery man on the web, they combined these 2 pictures together with Locke, grinning & he is holding up a white chip & a black chip from the game backgammon under a picture of Jacob & mystery man/enemy together in that first scene of them wearing black & white.

Hey :D i see you point and i also wondered why the season 5 ending was the opposite corlour, i first thought it was because of the nurclear* bomb but now i think it because something big is upcoming. The bomb has exploded and everything is back as it was when flight 815 crashes and boone and charlie, shannon, ana lucia, mr. Eko, libby, locke ( don't know if i forgot any ) are still alive, and they are all trying to figure out how to get off the island Ps: claire are not missing in my theory and the island is back on normal time :D Do you find this valuable? |

i think it's partly because the show is like one big game of chess now. jacob has his players/pieces and so does his enemy. right now it seems that jacob has lost, but i think he was just letting his enemy think it was game over.

It could be also like a Backgammon game between these two. I think Backgammon is the oldest game ever in history and even goes all the way back to Egyptian times. I don't think they are playing a game of backgammon but the concept is the same. I also think that Jacob=good and Mystery Man=bad. I think that Jacob will let Mystery Man think he has won and then Jacob will return and prove Mystery Man wrong......I hope. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

At the end of Season 5 finale when the Lost white logo was shown, the coming attractions for Season 6 called it Destiny found, maybe the white logo represents the characters knowing their fate and seeing the light as to why they were on the island. I'm not sure if all will return, whish they would. I think Claire will return though. I really wish they kept Libby because there could of been a good storyline with Hurley and Libby's romance. I also want Locke to get the justice he deserves, he got a raw deal. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I can't remember exactly what they said, but I think they were disagreeing on human behavior and how people always end up destroying themselves. Jacob wanted the ship to come to the island, ?man didn't because of those reasons I just said. Maybe that conversation is part ot the twist that makes us think Jacob is for mankind, but isn't. He seems all knowing and I can't understand how he didn't know Ben would kill him. Do you find this valuable? |

He just had a backup plan. The ? man was very upset when he heard Jacob told him "they're coming" he kicked him into the fire. ? man knew he lost the game again and that Jacob outsmarted him. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Speaking of fire I have a theory that Jacob is still alive in a way, but he will be trapped as a pile of ashes. I think whoever was trapped in the cabin may have had this done to them. I'm guessing it was their ashes that circled the cabin.

I am confused about Jacob having a backup plan, why would he want to be a bunch of ashes? Do you think he knew that he would be thrown in the fire and be ashes? If he didn't then Locke/?man won, he's got a body and Jacob is a bunch of ashes. Maybe a body isn't so important to these two whatever they are.

Also, back to this backgammon game. I watched the pilot, part 2. Locke was playing it in that episode and was teaching Walt about it, he was telling Walt that it is one of the oldest games in the world, I think he said it was 5000 years old and I think he was talking to Walt about how the egyptians played it, Walt was interested and asking him questions, then he picked up a white chip and a black chip and told Walt that black is darkness and white is light......something like that, can't remember exactly. Then Locke said to Walt "do you want to know a secret." I wish I could find that picture that someone combined on the web of Jacob and ?man on the beach, underneath it was Locke holding a white and black backgammon chip. Maybe there is more to Locke that we don't know, like the resemblence of that 2007 picture of Jacob and Locke.

He has his players (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley) on their way to save him. I don't know how, but he didn't just touch them for no reason. I think since he doesn't force anyone to do anything they don't want to he was just testing Ben. He gave Ben the opportunity to either kill him or not. Ben may have screwed up and will probably learn that it was a mistake to kill Jacob. Do you find this valuable? |

You are absoluty right that he has a plan. They have been crossing paths with Jacob since they were children. He is ging to be a major player in Season 6. I think that something in Australia is the common thread of all the characters.
