Season Six LA X

What if we are not seeing two separate parallels "worlds", but rather we are seeing (1) what would have happened if the the plane had not crashed (and how everyones lives intersected anyway) and (2) what is happening on the island once the bomb went off.

1. aboutSeason Six LA X

Interesting episode. Lots to talk about. There seems to be two possibilities at the moment. A ying and yang duality. Each can not hurt the other. Jacob and his dark companion, Ben and Whitmore. Now that Jacob is 'dead' will a new yin (or is it yang) need to be chosen? Then there is the quantum theory/ Schrodinger's cat experiment. Two possibilities existed when Juliet hit the bomb. It went off or it did not. So both happened and the universe split. Also interesting is Desmond disappearing after Juliet died. (The times do not match up in show time though). And Desmond could have just gone back to his seat. (to throw the discussion off) I suggest they are the same person from different universes. Unlikely I know. But I don't recall seeing Desmond and Juliet actually talking to each other. I have not seen every episode so I can not be sure. Do you find this valuable? |

Kitty 1227,I like your theory. I'm confused as to what year/s the two parallel "worlds" are operating in. Do you find this valuable? |

"What if we are not seeing two separate parallels "worlds", but rather we are seeing (1) what would have happened if the the plane had not crashed (and how everyones lives intersected anyway) and (2) what is happening on the island once the bomb went off."1) The hydrogen bomb was detonated by Juliet in 1977, causing the entire island to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So when 2004 arrives in this alternate reality (the past), flight 815 doesn't sink, because there is no energy to sink it. Desmond is also on the flight because it's his karmic synchronicity to interact with Jack and because there's no island for him to have been washed up on. 2) It seems like everyone dies on the island once the bomb is detonated, as the island sinks to the bottom of the ocean. Juliet, Kate, Sawyer, Jack, Sayid, Jin, Miles, and Hurley are all transferred back to their reality (2007). 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

See that's where I am confused about the times. Is the plane landing at LAX landing in 2004 or 2007? And are our friends who are now at the temple in 2004 or 2007? Did all that metal junk that they pulled Juliett out of travel to the "present" because Juliett was in contact with it? Talk about having a lot of baggage!

Originally, Desmond washed up on the island at least 3 years before the survivors, so if there is only a sunken island how/why did he board the plane in Sidney to fly to LAX three years later?

"In terms of quantum time, the year 2004 is constantly occurring in other parallel realities. LAX landing is an alternate 2004 reality where the bomb was detonated rather than the incident occurring. The characters in this reality seem to have a consciousness of the future as is seen by their behavior on the flight. A prime example of this is when Jack tells Locke that, "Not is irreversible" with regards to Locke's paralysis after they have landed in LA. We all know that this is something that the old Jack wouldn't say. Everyone who travelled back to 1977 got displaced back into their real time period of 2007. I guess Juliet did take some baggage with her.lol 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Originally, Desmond washed up on the island at least 3 years before the survivors, so if there is only a sunken island how/why did he board the plane in Sidney to fly to LAX three years later?"Maybe instead of being washed up on the island, he finished his boating journey and was then headed back to LA to reunite with Penny. 1 out of 1 found this valuable.
