The bird that flies into the window while Walt is reading the bird book in the flashback sequence, the polar bear that appears shortly after we see the comic book thrown onto the fire, open at the page showing the polar bear.
The Others claimed that they had got "more than they bargained for" when they took Walt. Maybe we haven't seen the last of Michael and Walt.
