The Hatch is not the "center"

I'm not the writer of the theory, but the theorizer may mean the "spiritual center", or "heart" of the Island.
If, as he says, the Island is alive and thinking on some plane, there is no reason that it's brain/heart/etc. shouldn't be somewhere other than the center. Our brain isn't in the center of our body.

The Hatch Implosion
I believe the hatch implosion has had a profound effect on the state of the Island. The hatch was built over the very heart of the Island.
