Don't laugh yet... A few of us at work were talking about all of the father conflicts, and a select few having significant resources. Think about the father figures: Penny's, Sun's, Jack/Claire's, Sawyer's, etc. Interesting notion that some may be funders of the Hanso foundation. Just a thought... the pattern is definitely there..

I've been having very similar thoughts. All of the fathers seem to be either rich and powerful or complete lowlives who would 'sell' their future offspring for experimentation to Dharma. Essentially it all seems like the past 30-odd years have been in preperation for bringing them all to the island. But how did they engineer a plane crash that left the 'important' people unharmed? The crash seemed to be a surprise for the Others too, so I don't think they are part of Dharma - more likely the key members (Ben, etc) are descendants of an ancient civillisation that inhabited the island long before Dharma discovered it. Got a feeling that the powerful father figures mentioned might be as well - could that explain some of the powers that some of them have discovered? Could explain Locke's 'connection' with the island....
