The Village or The Trueman Show

The movie The Village which was the most disappointing thing next to "Lost" in its current floundering lostness would have made SO much more sense if the older generation was keeping hidden from the kiddies that they had crash landed on a hostile planet generations ago and were pretending they were still on Earth.

My personal theory is that they are trapped in The Trueman Show and the stroll-on people like Niki and Paolo are androids dropped in now and then to confuse this group of numbskulls. I think the "shock ending" will be when someone opens the shutters of this biosphere and all the remaining Losties see Mr. and Mrs. America peering at them on world wide teevee. Frankly I would not waste my time waiting for this bunch of lab rats to do anything survival-oriented at all. (I think this is why the producers of The Lost Show have started dropping food to them because otherwise they were going to starve to death. The idea that Dharma was wiped out 25 years ago and NOW food is suddenly being dropped in the totally wrong location makes no sense even to devotees.) A more worthless bunch of human beings I can't even imagine putting together; even a random group of people gathered up from the average street corner would have a lot more people with actual brains and initiative in it than this bunch of rutty criminal women and wimpy men with Daddy Issues!

This show oesn't have enough left to last til 2010. It'll collapse long before that.

lost is getting way too long, boring and farfetched.
your theory is probably right and its the most sense i can make of lost my self. Personaly i feel that the story producers are just saying " what are the audience not going to expect, then well do it!" then they figure it out as the series goes along.
a friend of mine who has relative in Australia were they show it more than several times every day, told me that its all just a dream, the dream of the main guy, the doctor.
what a PANTS ending though, "it was a just a dream,!... OH OK! thats fine, so ive been watching some guys deluded dream while he sleeps on the plane.
it makes about as much sense as a dream and it wouldnt surprise me if it really is and the directors are trying to make it as accurate to a dream as they can so at the end of the serires they can say "yeah, were really good directors cos we made was a 3 series long dream sequence"
honestly, its just so silly.
