TIME TRAVEL
May 20 2007, 2:56 PM EDT Okay, so back whenever it was, Damon Lindelof said "There are no spaceships. There isn't any time travel,” Okay, so does that mean that what Desmond experienced is Time Travel? Lindelof also said (after "flashes before your eyes" had aired) that "~Desmond did indeed have that experience in the year 1996" (im paraphrasing) So does this mean that they have changed their mind as to whether time travel is plausible in the show or is it still NOT time travel. If someone could help me clear this up once and for all, i think it would REALLY help, not jsut in solving a mystery, but also in generally theorising about the show; pseudoscientifically, realistically or otherwise. 7 out of 9 found this valuable. RE: TIME TRAVEL
Jun 5 2007, 10:24 AM EDT according to one of the wikipedia lost articles, the producers have not ruled out time travel/dialation in relation to Desmond specifically. It kind of makes sense, else i cant see how they can they rationally explain his clairvoiency. hope that helps. 1 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: TIME TRAVEL
Nov 12 2007, 9:38 PM EST The video about the Orchid station seems to provide evidence of a time travel experiment. A second rabit with the number "15" appears all of a sudden. The Dr. yells, "Don't let 'em near each other!" (A common warning in time travel stories. It is always theorized that something terrible will happen if the same object/person comes in contact with itself). The Dr. asks the other lab person, "When did you set the shift?" to which she replys, "Negative 20." He says, "How long?" and she says, "9 minutes, but we're still learning..." Sounds like time travel talk, to me. The only challenge I have with this theory is that there is that quote from one of the show's producers (from a comic con) where he states that there are no aliens involved in the Lost story, and no time travel either. It could explain, however, how the plane could both have crashed in the ocean, killing everyone on board (as they have been told by Naomi, the parachutist), and also have crashed on the island, with the cast surviving. They are a duplicate, time-shifted Oceanic 815 flight. As pointed out by others, there are several episodes supporting time travel theories. I think there's definitely some time travel figuring in here somewhere... 5 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: TIME TRAVEL
Mar 10 2008, 10:42 PM EDT We have now witnessed Desmond Time Traveling. As long as he has his constant he is fine. The same with Faraday. Now, I feel that possibly Sayid is also going to start traveling, and that Michael and possibly Walt are also Time Traveling. That is why I believe that Michael will be the spy on the freighter. Some how each one will be able to control their traveling. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: TIME TRAVEL
May 29 2008, 4:29 PM EDT DESMOND TIME TRAVELED THROUGH HIS MIND, NOT PHYSICALLY, JUST THE WAY THEY SHOW A FLASHBACK, BUT HIS ARE DIFFERENT BECAUSE THEY SHOW THAT TIME HAS NO BOUNDARIES MEANING YOU CAN GO BACK OR AHEAD AS IN THE CASE OF THE DR. OF THE FREIGHTER, HIS BODY SHOWED UP DEAD BEFORE HE ACTUALLY DIED. I BELIEVE THE POINT IS THAT THE PAST CAN BE CHANGED, HOWEVER THE RESULT WILL BE THE SAME. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: TIME TRAVEL
May 29 2008, 4:47 PM EDT yes that is a good point. if you dont go to/from the island on the correct bearings (i wanna say 105) time travel happens. if you remember towards the beginning of the season they lauched flares and there was a time delay because they didnt go on the right bearings. the doctor came ahead of time beacause he wasnt floating on the right bearings. and frank got off the bearings during the storm, airgo desmonds time traveling Do you find this valuable? |

RE: TIME TRAVEL
May 29 2008, 5:05 PM EDT EXACTLY MY BROTHER. THE BEARING WAS 325. I DON'T THINK THAT THE TIME TRAVEL IS AS RELEVANT AS THE RELIGOUS MESSAGES THE SHOW HAS. THE WHOLE GOOD VS EVIL DEAL IS THE TRUE ESSENCE OF THE SHOW Do you find this valuable? |

May 30 2008, 12:36 PM EDT How can it be the true essence when it is not really clear which is good and which is evil on the show... Do you find this valuable? |

RE: TIME TRAVEL
May 30 2008, 2:07 PM EDT Of Course it is clear, the others are good and Widmore's people are evil, couldn't be much clearer. Your response will probably be about Ben and his actions, Most of his actions are done within the best interest of the island and when he doesn't do what is in the interest of the island he is punished ala SPINE CANCER and last night it banished him from the island. His exacts words were Jacob is punishing me. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

May 30 2008, 3:37 PM EDT So, it's official: Damon Lindelof is a liar! There is time travel, even though he said there wasn't. Now we can never believe another word he says about the show.... Do you find this valuable? |

RE: TIME TRAVEL
May 30 2008, 3:45 PM EDT ...and another thing! WTF is with the producers ending the show that way? The Oceanic 6 just get off the island, and then Ben shows up to say the have to go back? Nuts! Can we spend some time solving some of the mysteries of the island, instead of making the whole series about going to and from the island? Sheesh!!! Do you find this valuable? |
