Debz70 Debz70	Charlie the Champion Swimmer?! Jul 28 2007, 1:35 PM EDT I've just been watchin season 1 again and in the episode that a woman drowns and Boon dives in the sea to rescue her, Charlie is shouting at Jack saying he can't swim! #1LostFan	RE: Charlie the Champion Swimmer?! Jul 28 2007, 5:02 PM EDT When he said that he couldn't swim, he meant he couldn't swim well. He can swim, but he isn't a champion swimer. He lied about that so that he could swim to the Looking Glass. If Charlie said he couldn't swim well then, no one would of let Charlie go down there. Post reply Do you find this valuable?

Sep 15 2007, 2:59 AM EDT Bear in mind that to rescue someone from the sea would be quite daunting even to a fairly competent swimmer, swimming down to the Looking Glass with a weight belt on would be far easier. Additionally, if you recall when he was talking to Desmond, the thought of swimming down to the LG caused him to ask "How hard can it be". In summary, in my opinion, Charlie could swim reasonably well, not well enough to be confident about swimming out to save someone and be able to bring them back however, but well enough to feel he could manage swimming down to the Looking Glass.
